π Meet Linda Y. Sapienza, an Allied Health Teacher at Cape Henlopen High School . π©Ί
Before integrating the Allied Health pathway into Cape Henlopen High School, Linda Sapienza began her journey as a nurse recruiter at Atlantic City Medical Center in 1986. She knew then that a nursing career would be in her future, so she obtained her practical nurse license (LPN) at Delaware Technical Community College and later earned her RN in 1992. As an RN, Linda became a lead nurse in the Emergency Department at Beebe Healthcare.
After 18 years at Beebe, Linda served the geriatric population in a nursing home, opening the door to becoming a clinical instructor for a Certified Nursing Assistant Program. While earning her Master's, Linda discovered her passion for educating and training high school students in a Medical Assistant Program. Linda then integrated the Allied Health pathway into Cape Henlopen High School.

π Meet Jordan Estock a Design and Engineering CTE Teacher at Concord High School. π
Dr. Estock earned his K-12 Technology Education certification from Millersville University in 2009. He taught one year in Baltimore County Public Schools before being hired at Concord High School where he has spent the last 15 years teaching engineering. He earned his masters from Wilmington University in 2015 and his Doctorate also from WilmU in 2020. He is happily married to his wife Kelly Estock and has 3 boys Rowan, Sonny, and Casey. When Dr. Estock is not teaching he enjoys running, swimming, mountain biking, fishing, and coaching his sons sports teams.

βοΈ Meet Brandon McCabe, an Agricultural Structure & Engineering CTE Teacher at Sussex Central High School ! βοΈπ
Mr. McCabe was born and raised in Millsboro, DE on a poultry and grain farm. Baseball and Agriculture have been his passion forever. He was an FFA member and Officer at Sussex Central High School and then played college baseball at Delaware Valley University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore while majoring in Ag-Business. After graduation, he coached youth and collegiate baseball. In 2010, he was hired to teach Agricultural Structures and Engineering while also being a Delaware FFA Foundation, Inc. Advisor. During the 2020 school year, he was named the teacher of the year for Sussex Central and the Indian River School District. He is currently teaching his 14th year at Sussex Central while also serving as the President of the Delaware Association of Agriscience Educators (DAAE). His Master's Degrees in Education are in Educational Technology and Curriculum and Instruction.

Sarah Bell was raised on a small farm outside of Felton, Delaware. She spent her younger years participating in youth development organizations such as 4-H and FFA. These organizations guided her to to be an agricultural educator. Currently, she resides on a small farm outside of Camden, Delaware with her husband and two boys where they raise and show goats and play a lot of lacrosse. In addition, she has passed her passions down to her children who are active in their local 4-H club and FFA chapters.

The 94th Delaware FFA Convention took place in March!
Check out some exciting highlights:
π Over 500 members participated in various competitions, workshops, and community service activities.
π Competitions spanned across 12 Career and Leadership Development Events.
π± Top achievers were recognized with awards, including proficiency awards for Supervised Agriculture Experience programs.
π 41 members were awarded Delaware FFA State Degrees.
π 11 members received approval for the prestigious American FFA Degree.
β€οΈ Notable community service projects included assembling 800 Blessing Bags for veterans and crafting toys for local animal shelters.

π Over 180 students were awarded medals in skill attainment competitive events, and over 80 students qualified for the national conference this summer!
π Winners in the Children's Literature competitive events were awarded scholarships from the University of Delaware, and winners in the Education Rising Moment were awarded scholarships from Wilmington University!
The conference was held in February by the Delaware Department of Education's Career Technical Education workgroup in partnership with the University of Delaware.
