Congratulations to DHS senior Field Hockey player, Ashtyn Torbert, on her signing to play lacrosse at Misericordia. We wish you the best!

If you are even considering the possibility of playing field hockey at the collegiate level, but you don’t think you’ll be “discovered” because you don’t play with a club team, that isn’t the case. There are two major tournaments through College Connection/Shooting Star in April at the DE Turf. Please see the links below (second link in comments)to register as an individual (without a club). I have a lot of experience with the recruiting process and Coach Bowen has developed some good relationships with college coaches. Use your HUDL accounts and make highlights! Brynn didn’t pursue any schools
because she wasn’t sure she wanted to play. Schools sought her out because of her play at tournaments. Have highlights ready and email schools you are interested in and tell them when/where you’ll be playing!

Dover High Field Hockey coach Lauren Pellegrini and Dover High FH Alumns Savannah Strauss (‘24) and Brynn Bowen (‘23) playing in the city of Dover Adult League playoffs. Lauren scored 2 goals, Brynn scored 3 goals and Savannah made a ton of saves. Keep loving the game!🏑💙

Congratulations to our players who received All-Conference Honors! 2nd Team: Savannah Strauss, Ashtyn Torbert, and Hadley Lewicki. Honorable Mention: Iyana Dixon.

Savannah has also been selected to play in the State All-Star Blue/Gold game.

A few weeks ago Coach Bowen and the players showered Coach Lauren with gifts and treats. She is expecting her first child in January. 💖🏑

The dorms are now air conditioned!

Thank you Coach Bowen and Coach Lauren for the time and effort you both put into the program this season. There were many challenges, but we had lots of successes that didn’t always translate onto the score board.

Another big thank you to our Boosters! We have the best parent volunteers around. Thank you Julie and Whitney (once again) for your leadership.

A great way to celebrate the end of the season and a successful Senior Night. The team had so much fun at Fifer’s this afternoon. Last game of the season is tomorrow at Smyrna.

Last week the team was hosted by Hickory & Willow for a paint night. We have a great partnership with them as they also did our senior photo shoot!

Coaches: Savannah developed into one of the finest goalies in the Henlopen Conference. As a team captain, she is a fierce competitor and the vocal leader of our team. She has the ability and determination to (wo)man a cage at the next level. We look forward to seeing what she can accomplish in the future.

Ashtyn is a four year varsity player, 3 sport athlete, and a team captain who leads on and off the field. Ashtyn is a no-nonsense player who leads by example. We look forward to watching her athletic and academic accomplishments this year and as she continues playing lacrosse at the next level.

The girls had a great team dinner tonight followed by pumpkin painting! If you like to eat and have fun, join our team!

Savanna Wise

Coaches: Savanna is always one of the most competitive and determined players on the field. A former goalie, Savanna has made tremendous strides in her first year as a field player, starting every game at attack or midfield. She continued to improve every game and always has a smile on her face. We wish her the best!

Senior Senator Spotlight continues with Reagan Vidrine! 🏑

Coaches: Reagan has been a dedicated member of the program for four years. Through hard work, Reagan turned herself into a fine defender. Reagan worked on her game all summer, even when there was no organized practice or summer league. A team captain, Reagan leads by example and with class, always displaying sportsmanship.

Our third Senior Spotlight 🏑 Alex Galarza

Coach Bowen&Coach Lauren: “Unfortunately an injury cost her playing time this year but Alex has been valued member of the team for four years. She served as manager this season and was invaluable to the coaching staff in keeping the team organized on game day. She also did a fantastic job taking video of each game. We wish Alex the best as she moves toward a bright future.”

Our second Senior Spotlight! 🏑 Elizabeth Dill

Coach Bowen &Coach Lauren: “As a two year varsity starter, Liz brought maturity and experience to our young team. Her confidence played a major role in our ability to get the ball up the field. We have really missed her play and leadership the second half of the season as she’s been out with an injury. Liz is a great all-around athlete and student and we wish her the best!
