In Search of: Director of Leadership Central Delaware.

The Director/Coordinator of Leadership Central Delaware will serve as the coordinator and facilitator of the Chamber’s Leadership Central Delaware (LCD). LCD is a 10-month leadership development program comprised of 9 day-long sessions (one per month, beginning in October), an opening and closing retreat, and graduation. Each day-long session is focused on a different segment of Kent County. The days are spent hearing from the leaders of various industries, enjoying presentations and tours, and engaging in hands-on learning experiences. The Director/Coordinator of this program is responsible for efficiently executing and maintaining this “diamond program” of the Chamber by directing class days and other experiences, arranging for transportation and food needs, scheduling speakers and tours, working with a steering committee, interviewing candidates, working with LCD alumni, and more.

This position requires an bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years work experience. In addition, candidates must have possess a demonstrated ability for successful project management, must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, must be able to plan, organize, and complete work logically and independently, must possess initiative and well-developed interpersonal skills, must be able to work within deadlines. Candidates are asked to be proficient with proprietary computer software. The Director/Coordinator must possess the ability to work with a team, as well as independently. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and their own means of transportation.

The Director/Coordinator of LCD position is a part-time position averaging 40 hours per month and reports directly to the President. Normal working hours are between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with one hour for lunch. Attendance will be required at some activities and events outside of normal working hours.

Director of Marketing & Communications

The Director of Marketing and Communications will serve as the editor for the Chamber Connections Newspaper, the Central Delaware Resource Guide, the Kent County Map and the CDCC E-News, and other weekly eNewsletters, and will coordinate and implement the CDCC Marketing Plan which will include all advertising campaigns, develop all marketing materials, and oversee the CDCC Marketing Committee. This position is also involved in Ribbon Cuttings and other duties as assigned. The Director of Marketing and Communications will also work with the Executive Assistant and others on the development of the CDCC Website.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Other skills needed: project management, ability to effectively communicate, excellent writing skills with knowledge of graphics and publishing, must possess skills in social media, sales, and ability to handle multiple tasks. Candidates are asked to be proficient with proprietary computer software. Must have the ability to thrive in a team setting and must be a self-starter. Must posses their own valid driver’s license and means of transportation.
This is a full-time salaried permanent position with benefits. Office hours are from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with one hour for lunch. Presence will be required at events outside of normal working hours.
