A few examples of what I'm doing to help improve my squat technique. # A wall squat is a great warm-up as well as great at pinpointing some weak links in your technique. As you can see, my low back tends to hyper extend more than it should. No matter how conscious I am of this I find that it directly carries over to my squat with load as well. So, I've implemented BB push presses with a slow eccentric on 1 upper body day as well as overhead squats on another. Then, I've implemented BB front squats as my loaded squatting motion for this cycle. All to help engage my anterior core through the ranges of motion. # These clips are from my first week on this program so, I'll keep you updated as to how this carries over to my back loaded BB squat. # If pain is any indicator of success then, I'm happy with the results so far BC I've had a nagging hip/hamstring issue going on since prep ended back in Nov that I can only correlate with doing back squats with inefficient form! #theomnifit #betternotbigger #beintentional
Meal prep tip: My favorite way to prepare chicken in bulk is using the crock pot. I use one of my salts from @steelcitysaltco (hickory smoked or Alderwood are my favs on chicken), onion & garlic powder. Open the chicken Season one side then dump it in the pot & season the other side. My crock pot can cook easily another 4-5 breasts on top of these. I also do not add any water. I find that it makes the chicken more dry once it's cooked despite it falling apart. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. I'll post the finished product when it's done! Superset rows from today's back training! I love training back BC you can use SO MANY ranges of motion. It's crucial not to just move the weight, but to connect with the muscle. The second grip I use felt great for my upper lats. Sometimes that area is hard to connect with BC the upper trap takes over, but positioning my grip right below my shoulder seems to be great for me.
