This is going to get a little controversial, but it needs to be said... the whole self-help industry is so selfish...

"How can YOU be happy?"
"What are the 5 steps YOU need to take to be successful?"

But, what about the person next to you?

"What are the 5 steps you can do to help the person next to you be healthier?"
"What are the 7 steps you could follow to help the person next you be more successful?

Think about this.... you can be excited because you reached a new physical goal. You might experience happiness because you beat your last PR or because you were awarded for your diligence at work, but you know how you REALLY feel FULFILLED?

When you do something for someone else!

MEET ALICE:

Alice Edung, like many older Turkana people in the small village of Tiya in Kenya, doesnโ€™t know her age.

โ€œI have been hungry since I was little,โ€ she admits. She didnโ€™t know where her next meal was coming from until SERV arrived with a distribution of bags of a vitamin-enriched blend of lentils and dried vegetables.

"SERV has helped people to have more life. It is nutritious food."

SERV has committed to providing food, water, shelter and life to the people of Lodwar, area Turkana villages and, now, to the people like Alice in the village of Tiya.

PSA: The key to loving our bodies is treating them well... Doing things that serve them, care for them & build them up, not tear them down (in an effort to make them smaller). These actions combined with uplifting thoughts regarding who we are (apart from what we look like) results in self-love that exudes confidence! โœจโ €

These snap shots are of me today. Living life, being a mom, maintaining structure & reaching new goals. It's a reflection of how I'm treating my body... with respect, with nutrients to fuel my much needed energy , without judgement ( ๐Ÿ˜‚). โ €

But seriously, I'm proud of this because I've learned how to manage the desire to improve & avoid compliancy while also extending grace to myself when it's needed.... that equals enjoying this life. That's freedom! โ €

This is a go to meal when I'm in a hurry! I either have rice already cooked & in the fridge or my Instant Pot whips some up in 15 min ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Ingredients for 2-4 meals (depending on meal size):
- 1lb raw chicken tenderloins
- 2 cups uncooked white rice
- 1 cup frozen green peas
- 1 can sliced (or cubed) pineapple
- 2-4 tablespoons of coconut oil
- McCormick's rotisserie chicken seasoning (for the chicken)
- salt & pepper
- red pepper flakes

Directions:
1. Cook rice as directed & Cook frozen peas either in the microwave or on the stove (they taste the same)

2. Heat a skillet for the chicken & sorry with coconut oil. Cube the tenderloins into bite size pieces with sheers. (I literally cut them straight into the skillet)

3. Sprinkle with McCormick's seasoning & flip each piece with a fork or spatula after ~2min. Cook another 2-3 min until you are able to cut into a thick piece & the center is white. (Be careful not to overcook)

4. Portion the rice, peas & chopped pineapple in a bowl (I use 2-3 rings of pineapple for a moderate serving)

6. Mix in a spoonful of coconut oil.
** If you're macro counting a good portion is about 10-15g. It's enough to moisten the meal. Obviously, more is better for a larger portion of rice.

6. Top with chicken. 1lb of chicken makes 3-4 small-moderate servings.
** I roughly divide it between myself, hubs & our toddler, lol.

Add salt & pepper to taste & sprinkle red pepper flakes for a little ๐Ÿ”ฅ

** My meal was about:
3/4c (~159g) cooked rice
1/4c peas
2 pineapple rings
1 tablespoon (15g) coconut oil
4.5oz (130g) cooked chicken ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

The OMNI FIT Live event on July 1st 2018.

Being an online company, many of us miss the face to face personal interaction of our crew. We have a fantastic digital community of like-minded, goal driven women and it's time that we all get some time face to face!! These live events will be open to anyone, not just clients on the OMNI FIT.

The details covered at each event will be determined by the feedback we get and what you guys want, but right now this looks like the game plan for July's event in Dover, NH:

๐Ÿ“š ROUND TABLE time with the OMNI FIT coaches:

NUTRITION - We will go over everything surrounding nutritional needs for YOU.
EXERCISE- We will go over everything surrounding exercise specific to YOUR needs and goals.

You will walk away from this event knowing EXACTLY what you should be doing for YOUR personal goals and have a plan in place to achieve them.
(Plenty of time for Q&A as well)

**We'll be doing this is a casual setting and serving a healthy lunch (that is macro friendly for those utilizing this method)

๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ GYM TIME:
We will have a specific workout planned for the day, but there will be time to go over the foundational push & pull movements specific to physique development and overall health. (not powerlifting specific)

We will get in a training session together (that is modifiable for any level of fitness)

๐Ÿฝ SOCIAL:
Connection is important! We were all created for community.

So, outside of some BOMB education, goal setting and ex*****on, we'll be just hanging out as a group after our gym time and grabbing some yummy food.

To my ladies: how many of you get discouraged when you feel fatigued, bloated, lacking motivation, hangry, and a million other symptoms that come from PMS? ๐Ÿ™„ (sorry, dudes...but it's a real thing). โ €

One symptom that never fails for me is I wake up once and awhile and feel like I got hit by a bus. SO fatigued ๐Ÿ˜ซ and cannot focus on anything. Dropping random stuff and have the worse brain fog ever. I was just feeling on top of the world last week in the gym...What the heck? It's SO easy to get discouraged, lady friends. Our hormones do that to us. โ €

Every. Single. Day. Is a different day in terms of what we produce for hormones and how it effects us. To the woman trying to reach her goals & get somewhere with her health...don't become discouraged. Even when you're pregnant, postpartum, menopausal, etc. God made a females body for a beautiful and divine PURPOSE. Don't wish away what we should be grateful for. Through a woman God chose to crush the serpent's head, that should say something about the way He has made us. It's not easy but what a PRIVILEGE! โ €
