Following our yearly tradition the last two weeks, Red Buffer had its well-contested table tennis doubles tournament. With great skills and talent shown throughout the fortnight, it all came down to Abubakar & Saryal facing Nauyan & Murtaza in the final showdown 🏓🏆

While Nauyan & Murtaza were deemed strong favorites due to long years of experience under their belt, the underdogs showed great stamina and tactical prowess to come back into the game after an initial setback. Despite their triumph, Abubakar & Saryal were more than happy to share their trophies with the runners-up, thus setting an example for the rest of their peers for years to follow! 🏅

Last week, the Air University Data & AI Society in collaboration with the Chair Department of Creative Technologies organized a seminar at Air University Islamabad with the aim of imparting the knowledge of data science and AI to young students and enthusiasts. Red Buffer's leading ML Engineer, Tahreem Rasul was invited as a speaker and delivered an insightful session on the said topics.

We are delighted to share the highlights from our recent event, “Build with AI”, hosted in collaboration with Google Developer Groups Cloud Islamabad. The event was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest AI model by Google, called Gemini AI and how to integrate it into various applications, regardless of platform or programming language.

The speaker sessions are the core highlight of any GDG event. The event commenced with an introductory session by the GDG Cloud Islamabad’s co-manager Irum Zahra Awan. It was followed up by a brief overview of Red Buffer’s core technologies and portfolio which was presented by Red Buffer’s head of AI, Syed Nauyan Rashid.

Then Tahreem Rasul provided a detailed presentation on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with Gemini, offering fresh perspectives and deepening the participants' understanding of newer technologies.

Mughees Awan and Abdul Hafeez Fahad followed up with a workshop on the implementation of RAG using Gemini and Google Vertex AI , explaining the models and their operational details. Their thorough explanation provided valuable knowledge to all attendees.

Then Mashhood Rastgar conducted a hands-on workshop with Google Gemini's API, which significantly enhanced participants' skills and broadened their perspectives on AI applications.

The participants loved the experience and were very fond of the spread arranged for high tea, with cardamom tea being a particular favorite. We’re definitely looking forward to host more events for people interested in AI and reaffirm our commitment to the advancement of AI education in Pakistan.
