Jeanne Nick returned home yesterday after working hard in physical therapy at our facility. Her son had these kind works to say, "Upon meeting Elyse Koefoed at Downers Grove Rehab, we were comfortable and confident that my mom would get the care she needed to complete her rehab and get home. And, indeed, the care provided motivated my mom to work hard in PT and OT so she could get healthy and return home- which she did today. Mission Accomplished!"

Dear Residents, Families, and Staff,
My name is Kim Ponta, and it has been my honor to join the Downers Grove team in late October 2023. In the time since, I have found immense fulfillment in acquainting myself with both our cherished residents and the dedicated staff who make our community flourish.
My journey in long-term care began in 2011, culminating in my licensure as an administrator in 2013. Over the years, I have cultivated a deep-rooted passion for skilled nursing, cherishing each opportunity to support and advocate for the wellbeing of our residents and their families.
Before embarking on my career in long-term care, I proudly served in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2004. Following my honorable discharge, I pursued further education at Illinois State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education. Subsequently, I dedicated several years to correctional education before transitioning to the field of long-term care, where my heart found its true calling.
I am genuinely thrilled to contribute to the Downers Grove community and eagerly anticipate the years ahead, wherein I hope to continue fostering an environment of compassion, respect, and excellence in care. Your trust in me as your administrator is a responsibility I hold in the highest regard, and I am committed to serving each resident and family member with the utmost dedication.
Thank you for affording me the opportunity to be a part of your lives. Together, let us continue to nurture a community that embodies the values of empathy, integrity, and compassion.
