New exhibit - July 2024 - Painting Schweikher House at Schaumburg Township District Library. Part of the reason I paint “places” - usually historic ones - is to increase awareness and help tell the story of place. Schweikher House is an amazingly preserved modernist home and studio in Schaumburg that hosts tours, yoga, concerts, and other special events. I hope you go visit, and then check out my exhibit at the library ☺️

Delivered 37 paintings to Downers Grove Public Library this morning! It all fit easily in the car, the rain held off, and I got a great spot thanks to my good parking karma. 🙌🏻 I’m so excited to see these on the walls!!

In the studio today

Solo show! My next big thing. I’m really excited for this one because I am showing my non-representational paintings for the first time as a large group! They will be on exhibit in the North Gallery, while my florals will hang in the Cafe Gallery. Started en plein air at Mayslake with Julie Skoda earlier this week. It became something else entirely in the studio today!

I don’t often do portraits…only a handful ever. And this one is not a “dead ringer” - portraits are hard! But, I wanted to honor my friend and express gratitude to the universe for crossing our paths. And then when the call came out for the “Telling Her Story” exhibit in the Community Gallery at I knew I wanted to finish the painting in time to hang in the show. “Andrea Understands” 40x30 along with the amazing carved frame I found at the resale shop! The exhibit runs March 16th - May 31 with an opening celebration April 6th

First official day working in the studio. Painting the spring bouquet my mom brought me 💕 still have a few more things to bring over, and I still have to do something about my door and display wall - but it feels great to be painting here!

5️⃣⭐️s for Dirty Clay Co. 🤎 mom, sis, daughter and I did the wheel-throwing workshop yesterday! Megan is an amazing teacher, the space is lovely and cozy, and Megan and Stacey’s own artworks are beautiful.

I haven’t thrown since college, and I learned today that electric wheel is much easier than a kick wheel!
