My name is Alyssa Gastaldello. I am originally from Lombard, IL, where I lived with my stepmom and 7 siblings, but I now live in Lisle with my husband Michael and my 2 dogs, Maverick and Smokie.

In 2019, I graduated from North Central College with honors with a double degree in both French and Art History. I started with French 101 my sophomore year of college and immediately fell in love with the language and the French culture. I put in hundreds of hours outside of class, diving into the language and in only 2 ½ years became proficient in French and graduated as the top student in the French Department.

I spent one year working as a French tutor on campus but took a detour in my career path and started a brand-new career in dog grooming with PetSmart in the summer of 2019. In the winter of 2020, I graduated from grooming academy and spent the next 4 years grooming and dog bathing.

Grooming an average of 10-15 dogs a day for over 4 years really took a toll on my back so in the spring of 2024, my husband and my mom, Patti, convinced me to come try out chiropractic treatment at Pure Chiropractic. While the adjustments seemed to be helping my lower back, I was still grooming 10-15 dogs a day, so my relief was only temporary, In April of 2024, I experienced the worst back pain I had ever felt and as a result I had to make the difficult decision to quit grooming in order for my back to heal. Luckily for me at the same time this was happening, Dr. Erick was looking to fill a chiropractic assistant position. Even though I had no experience in this field, I happily applied, and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr. Erick and his team have welcomed me with open arms, and I am beyond excited to grow and expand my horizons here. I have always been passionate about serving both animals and humans and my goal here at Pure Chiropractic is to help people live healthier and pain-free lives.

Today we introduce Karen! Karen has been a wonderful team member for a year now and we are so lucky to have her around! ✨️

Hi my name is Karen. If you recognize me, I might have done your tasting at Cooper’s Hawk in Naperville. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years. I’ve had many positions in the industry, just to name a few; barista, pastry chef, delivery driver, server, and tasting room attendant. Cooper’s Hawk was my home for 10 years, so it was not easy to leave.
I felt like God was calling me to step outside my comfort zone. I first gained confidence to be outside of my comfort zone when I started to do Krav Maga at The Krav Gym in Bolingbrook. My passion for it quickly grew, and eventually I became a certified instructor. I overcame my fear of public speaking and reignited my passion to help people. I learned to embrace the difficult obstacles and was ready to take on change.
June 2023, my cousin told me that her awesome chiropractor Dr. Erick and his wife Candace were looking to hire an assistant. I took a leap of faith, and I haven’t looked back since. Pure Chiropractic is my home now. I’m thankful to be in a job where I see people’s lives change for the better, including my own.
Receiving chiropractic care from Dr. Erick has helped my body heal from the years of working on my feet all day. I can continue enjoying long hikes with my dogs again. If not working, you can probably find me on the trails with my pups.

We want to take this time to reintroduce our amazing team over the next few days! 🎉💗

Today we reintroduce Dr. Erick! Dr. Erick specializes at detecting nervous system interference in the body and removing it! He has been serving the community of Downers Grove for 8 years now! Dr. Erick is trained in the Webster Technique and treats pregnant moms and babies! He has a big heart for the community of Downers Grove and is excited to serve families.

When he does have spare time Dr. Erick loves to spend time with his wife Candace and their two beautiful daughters Vada and Violet. He loves the outdoors and trail riding on his bike 🚴‍♀️. He is a tennis pro 🎾 and takes great pride in his yard work! 🚜

A few weekends ago we hosted a great mimosa brunch at the office and got to share a lot about health and healing! Thank you to those who attended and we are looking forward to hosting more great events! 🏵🌼

Dr. Erick adjusting his newborn daughter just minutes after her birth 💜 birth is not only traumatic for mom, but for Baby as well. It's so important to allow our children to grow up with a healthy, fully functioning nervous system!

I'm happy to announce Dr. Erick and Candace welcomed their 2nd baby into the world this weekend!! Candace and Violet are well and healthy. ❤️
