Each member of our team brings something truly special to the table, with hidden talents that shine brightly. Among us are avid readers who are also musicians, artists, actors, parents, organizers, and students—all using their skills to craft a meaningful and personal shopping experience for our community. Getting to know each one has been a true joy.

We also know that none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support, love, and kindness from our fellow business owners, neighbors, friends, family, staff, and the wonderful authors and industry professionals we’ve had the pleasure of meeting this year. As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of Lauren & Damian Ford taking ownership of The Doylestown & Lahaska Bookshops, we find ourselves reflecting on an incredible year. We've had the privilege of hosting many remarkable authors, forging new relationships while cherishing those we’ve long held dear. We’re deeply grateful for these connections and excited to continue bringing diverse events to Doylestown, just as we have over the past 25 years. Emmy Award-winning actor, writer, director, and producer Henry Winkler, along with children's book author Lin Oliver and New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Dan Santat will visit Doylestown, PA, on Wednesday, October 16th, at 7:00 PM as part of their book tour for Detective Duck: The Case of the Missing Tadpole (Detective Duck #2). The event, held in the Life Sciences Auditorium at Delaware Valley University, will feature a presentation, a drawing demonstration by Dan Santat, a Q&A session, and opportunities for book signings and photos with fans.

Save the date!

SAVE THE DATE! The Bucks County Book Festival will be back in May 2025, to once again celebrate literacy, spark imagination, and build community by connecting authors, readers, and book lovers. This re-vamped and expanded festival will feature fun free events, including an outdoor festival, author panels and signings for readers of all ages, book-buying opportunities and so much more.

So far, we have over 50 volunteers, including a sixteen-member executive committee, working to make the May 2025 festival the best yet, but we still need your help to bring the magic of books to our community.

We will be holding a fall fundraising event on Thursday, October 24th, 2024 at to help us secure funds for the May 2025 Bucks County Book Festival.

More details regarding the event and ticket sales will be announced in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned! :)
