Keep your eyes open. One never knows where something stolen will show up.
I received this notice today, please share and hopefully the sampler will make its way back.
Good Afternoon,
I am the retired executive director and a member of the Collections Committee of the Museum of Old Newbury in Newburyport, MA. We are re-investigating the loss of a sampler from our collection.
I am writing to inquire whether you would be willing to post the attached notice and photograph of the 1820 sampler by Lydia Coombs Bartlet on your website.

The theft was reported to the Newburyport Police Department at that time. The

It is with a heavy heart that we pass this information along. Tony started working with his wife and daughter at Fireside in 1995. He enjoyed working with all the employees and quickly learned the business and how to needlepoint! His interest in needlepointing did not stop there. He spent countless hours in his wood workshop making needlepoint accessories to sell in the shop and wholesale. He was still working into January of this year! He was the heart of our Fireside family and will be greatly missed!

I was going to say something here, but I forgot what it was because FB changed operations again. I barely remember how to get here, let alone figure out how to comment using my own face and not the management face, ie., the logo.🤣🤣😭😭
I wish that it would quit changing from my posting name to the Columbus Area Chapter EGA posting name when click on MY notifications to check notifications. I have to root around every time to find the page to return to me. Ugh! Merry Christmas. PS, it never used to do this.
Just for your information.
Another shop to share.
Amazing, talented people.
Jane Nichols is n the back row, third from left wearing a black top. Jane came to our Chapter in September to teach the small posey and bumblebee project.
Our Constellation Chapter hosted teacher Jane Nicholas from Australia on August 30-31 at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City, MD. She taught her beautiful design, Shakespeare’s Flowers: Sampler I. Twenty-four enrolled in this 2-day class and everyone was excited to learn from and engage with this amazing teacher. - Alice LaSota, Program Chair

Embroidery overload. Such beautiful work.
Good to know that there are those who believe in saving age old crafts.
We are delighted to now be able to begin accepting wholesale orders for over 10 metres of our Jacobean Linen Twill.
Earlier this summer, we made arrangements to take over the worldwide wholesale distribution of this beautiful Linen Twill following the retirement, later this month, of our weaver Ian Dale of Angus Weavers.
For those of you who have been part of our community for some time, you will know that the development of an historically-accurate, loom-state Linen Twill, which faithfully replicates the linen used in 16th and 17th Century crewel work, and importantly which stands the test of time, has been a career-long pursuit of Phillipa’s and which first brought her and Ian together over 30 years ago. We are extremely grateful to Ian for the support he has shown us since that time and for his own insistence on achieving the absolute best quality twill for our needs. We certainly achieved that and it is our absolute pleasure to be continuing Ian's legacy by ensuring that this important historic fabric remains available.
We are working closely with our new weaver, and with Ian as supporting consultant, to ensure that all providers retain the standards of crop, weave, and treatment both we and Ian have come to expect.
The fabric will from now on be known as Crewel Work Company Jacobean Linen Twill so if you are purchasing from a re-seller, this how you can check that you are buying the same historically-accurate, loom-state Jacobean Linen Twill that we know is crucial to achieving the absolute best from your Crewel Work.
We will continue to sell the fabric on our site up to 10 metres (updates have been made to the measurements available). But if you are a needlework shop, curator, artist, tutor, or anyone else who requires lengths of above 10 metres of this wonderful fabric, either for your own needs or to re-sell, please contact [email protected] to obtain our trade pricing and terms of sale.
In the meantime, for those who enjoy our kits, you can be sure that your beautiful stitching will continue to be honoured with the absolute best quality Jacobean Linen Twill, to last for generations to come.

Tuesday’s Tip: Mark your calendars for the upcoming 2022 Tour de Stitch (formerly known as NorthCoast Tour de Stitch). Booklets and passports are available from any of the eight mentioned shops. Each shop has a page in the booklet with more information and their regular business hours. Many tourists keep these booklets for reference throughout the year. Passports are free this time, but will still be validated at each shop so that finished cards can be entered in the $200 gift certificate drawing. Even if you can’t visit all shops, you will be eligible for the $100 individual shop gift certificates. Grab a stitchy friend and bring your wish lists!
