This morning was spent eating an amazing breakfast made by my boyfriend. Then Quinnie and I watched YouTube, took naps, ate snacks, played ball, played with the dog, went on a bike ride, and then finally rounded up the evening with some freshly cut watermelon. It was a perfect day. 🌸

Who has time for laundry, anyway.

It’s already December 1st and it’s been a minute since we’ve had a heart to heart. (The girls that work for me know I love a good chit chat- oh and swipe right! They were in the campaign shoot this time and killed it!)

I can’t plan for next year without first pausing to celebrate this one. This year has been incredible. We are still in the process of moving as the new space is being built out. We launched the v-necks- a project that took about 2 years and have already sold out. (We’re getting more). There are about a dozen other exciting business ventures that have either started or have been completed successfully.

It’s been a weird year too. I’ve been challenged as the business scales. The plates that I juggle have gotten heavier, and some have been passed on to my amazing staff.

I’ve also learned what my personal boundaries are, what my business principles are, and how to protect and honor both of them guilt free. (The “guilt free” part is really important.)

Thank you for sticking with me as I navigate my social scene, too. It’s been weird having to navigate the balance of having a loving boyfriend who I adore (did I really just say that?!) and raising miss Quinn, while maintaining a social presence on all platforms.

I hope this year you’re able to find the good things too as no day, week, month, or year is ever perfect. And I hope next year is one of the best ones yet to come for you❤️

Hey guys even though Ohio just got pummeled with snow, it’s not too late to make sure you have your sh*t together as far as making sure you don’t end up stranded on the side of the road (like I almost was…) I’m teaming up with to give away a Winter-ready Package! Each season Firefighters 4 kids collects toys for Central Ohio Families in need. Last week Harper and I took toys to the Mega Mall and I was BLOWN away by the amount that had already been donated in the generous spirit of giving. I encourage all of you to give back and support Columbus Families as well! (& you can use any location to drop off toys! BONUS: you don’t have to wrap them) You can drop them off before noon on Dec 23rd. And they are especially looking for toys for the ages of birth-5years old and 9-14 years old. It was honestly a wonderful experience to share with Harper, too. Please Please Please donate!

👉🏽 3rd No-Show/ No Calls this week alone for positions I’ve been trying to get filled for a year and a half

👉🏽 Worked 18 days straight to prep for growing staff and inventory

👉🏽 Shelves that arrived needed for that were not the right size: requires additional time and expense, delays work flow

👉🏽 Design Team lost the dips to create V-Necks and Sweatshirts: delayed us by 12 weeks. Missing sweatshirt season now despite prepping for it since May and losing expense on campaigns for them

👉🏽 Consumer agitation based off limited knowledge on how policies have changed due to covid regulations / staffing issues despite adding shifts / trying to hire more people but not being able to do so and feeling like I failed their expectations

👉🏽 Feeling like I did 9 years ago when I started this: answering emails on the loo, feeling like I can’t get caught up, feeling helpless to circumstances out of my control, feeling like I’m not as far asking as I should be as we are nearing year 10

👉🏽 Imperative Deadlines have been missed due to staffing issues

👏🏽 Talking about this because owning a biz is amazing and incredibly hard. It’s been weeks since I haven’t cried. While the rest of the world feels like it’s back to normal, small businesses are struggling to just maintain the stuffing kept in their creations as it’s unraveling.
