“I would like to make a special shout out to my Sensei Barrett-Ewing! I was one of her original students from wayyyy back in the day. I can’t believe it’s been so long since our original residency with Eitetsu Hayashi, the Taiko master of Japan who is considered a national treasure.
Taiko has absolutely changed my life and I still carry it with me in my heart to this day. Thank you to Sensei Barrett-Ewing for keeping Dublin Taiko around and thriving for so many years after it came into our lives! Taiko is such a special gift and such a special art form.

Susann knew it right from the start. Her dedication, love, and support throughout the years means everything to me and I know it means everything to the hundreds of student’s lives she’s touched over the years. I know Eitetsu is so proud! I am proud that I got to play and lean alongside such amazing teachers. Taiko has sparked a love for Japan and the Japanese culture inside me that I never thought possible. I was able to learn so much about the world at such a young age. I just returned from a trip to Japan this Winter and let me tell you.. every time I visit I am more and more in love. I thank Susann, Eitetsu, and the art of Taiko for instilling that love in me. I am blessed to have gone through the Dublin school system K-12 and to have had so many cool opportunities like this throughout the years. Thank you all for your continued support and love for TAIKO!
