Volunteer Spotlight!

Summer and Phoebe from Jugging Jason Adventures on TikTok went out of their way to volunteer with our kitchen staff today! We welcome the help and support they showed during our fishing derby!

This is a post to celebrate the help from volunteers of the club who are not members that go out of their way to support their community! We hope to share more posts like this in the future!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the fishing derby today! We had a wonderful day despite the rain, and a great turnout!

A big thanks to Swampy again for hosting his Fly Fishing Creation Station activity for free. He will be doing another fly fishing lesson for all ages at the Dubois County Museum on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00am to 3:30 pm.

A big thanks to BTM Wholesale Baits for their lure painting demonstration, and all the donations!

We would also love to thank the Boyscouts, 4H shooting sports, and the DNR for their informational booths. And Jugging Jason Adventures for his booth, and the volunteer work his family put in to help us out today!

We had tons of Donators who helped us make this event happen as well. A very BIG thanks to all of our donators who helped make today possible!

Boy scouts-Cub Scout Pack #170 will be there with a recruitment tent. If you have any questions about Scouts or are interested in signing up your kid, Clint will be available.
4h shooting sports-will be set up with an info table and be able to discuss questions as well.
BTM - set up and demonstrate painting of lures.
Swampy- a few stations set up to create your own fly’s.
Jugging Jason- TikTok fisherman - will have fishing, camping, and outdoor products on display.

Gates open at 9am sign in from 10 to 11 fishing from 11 to 1. Prizes shortly after

Here are some of the activities to expect this weekend during the Derby! All ages are welcome to attend any activity that isn't part of registering for the Derby. People are welcome to bring their own games and picnic items for the day as well!

We are one week away from the Fishing Derby! This event will be hosted during free fishing weekend, so we will have free fishing all day both days! The tournament is for the younger group of kids 15 and under, but, anyone can fish! There will be food, activities, and vendors for all ages during derby hours. We would like to keep this "open to the public" weekend bank fishing only. Please respect our ground rules, and keep our land clean.

How exactly does one enter the Fishing Derby? They read the information below!

Please keep in mind that the derby itself will be for ages 15 and under, but the whole weeked will be free fishing for all! You can still come out and fish with your family as an adult, just not for any prizes. More news on what that means tomorrow.

The Community Club of Dubois is proud to announce this year's Fishing Derby on June 1st.
This year, the competition will be for ages 15 and under. We will be giving away 3 Holiday World tickets to the boy and girl with the biggest caught fish! More prizes to be awarded for each fishing class.

Mother's day weekend is here. Treat the mothers in your life out to a peaceful picnic day at our community club free fishing day event. Mom doesn't like fish but loves a "me day"? Come fish and let mom rest.

Enjoy a free fishing day for the public on us. No restrictions. The gates will be open to the public for the day.

We will be open to the entire community on Sunday, May 12, in support of Indiana’s free fishing day. We want our community to come find out what the lake has to offer and see how beautiful and peaceful our club is. In turn we hope this helps build more activity, partnerships and new memberships within our community.

That being said, it has been wet out the last few weeks and mowing/weedeating needs cought up Saturday morning so it is presentable. It takes us volunteers to keep it that way. Bring a mower, Weedeater, or just yourself as we should have a few extra machines to go around. Many hands will make this quick and go a lot further than a few. Reach out and let us know if you can help! Comment below, Messenger, or just show up if interested.

If you look close. We had a few members collected some native trees from earth day events. Red buds, persimmon, black cherry, pecan, chestnut oak, a buttonbush. We searched out some open canopy, that didn’t already have some native hardwood growing up in, planted and tagged them. Along the way we tagged a few other species like dogwoods and other redbuds as so we don’t disturb their growth with the ongoing groundskeeping we are performing.

Quick reminder for tomorrow. We need mowers, weedeaters, equipment to place rip wrap around converts and just able bodied people to utilize their hands and equipment provided. This is our effort to get multiple people together, working together so one or two individuals dont have to do it alone, to maintain the grounds so we can present a beautiful place for people to enjoy and utilize.

As we welcome guests and travelers to our wonderful county, the cities and towns will be filling up a bit more than usual, especially at your usual after church dining areas! While the busy epicenters of towns bustle and fill up, take you and your guests to relax and have fun at our shoot in the country with a home cooked, smokey, pulled pork meal you don't have to make! They don't like pork? No problem! Other options will be available at the kitchen when it opens at 11:00am.

Thanks to all the members and volunteers who came out March 30th to help with our "Spring Clean" groundskeeping session! We tidied up around the lake and prepped for the rip rap. There's alot of work that goes into making sure the community club's lake stays beautiful.
