2024 P.Phashions Foundation
"MADISON AWARD " WinnerπŸŽ–

We are proud to announce Fanta Ndiaye as the recipient of the prestigious 2024 Madison Award.
This award is reserved for a high school senior who has captured the public's attention through media coverage or has been personally nominated for their exceptional journey. It honors a student who has demonstrated excellence in academics and an outstanding commitment to community service.

Meet Fanta Ndiaye, a graduate of Arabia Mountain High School. Her accomplishments are numerous:
She is the graduating class Valedictorian, a College Board National African American Scholar, Captain of the Arabia Mountain Reading Bowl, golf scholar-athlete, and ranking among the top ten webmaster in Georgia as part of the Technology Student Association. Additionally, Fanta has led two significant research projects that investigate the impact of climate change on bees and analyze the feasibility and future of solar batteries in energy production.

Raised with a deep love for reading, Fanta observed a decline in reading among middle school students nationwide. Recognizing that this trend often begins after elementary school, she focused her efforts on recognizing this passion among younger students, particularly in her predominantly black school community. To counteract this, she founded "The Bookworms" This initiative, involving 30 fourth and fifth graders, aims to elevate reading test scores, foster a love for adventure and sci-fi genres, and encourage expressive reading skills. Her leadership underscored the importance of fostering community change.

Looking ahead, Fanta will be attending Brown University, where she plans to double major in Computer Science and Atmospheric Sciences. Her career aspiration is to become an AI Engineer, focusing on using machine learning to tackle climate change and improve weather forecasting reliability.
Fanta's journey is a beacon of dedication and leadership, embodying the spirit of the MADISON AWARD. Her story is not just one of personal achievements but inspiring a call to action for young scholars everywhere.

CONGRATULATIONS πŸŽ–πŸŽ“πŸ†
