A beautiful friend who graced FBCD with her musical gifts, especially through her playing several years as part of the Symphony of Keyboards, has gone on to be with our Lord. Margaret Adams Murdock, you are loved. ❤ Our prayers are with Keith and all of your family.
Jenny Purcell is now singing in Heaven's choir. Here are some photos from when she sang with FBCD's Golden Notes.

Friends and Family at FBCD . . . we will be holding a fully virtual Celebration of Life service for Diane Waters ("Nana" to her "Georgia Son" and "Georgia Grandkids"!) on Monday, February 1 at 7:00 pm
Please join us at this virtual event, streaming online on the church website.
The link for her service will be available Monday morning and open in time for the service at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers we ask that in order to remember and honor Diane's memory, you send a letter or card to someone you know and love . . . that was just one of her amazing ministries to this world!
Sincerely,
Scott Howell
Another faithful worshipper has joined the Heavenly Choir. Our prayers are with family of Diane Waters.

"Amazing Grace! Eternal Life!", sung and played by our Adult Choir and Orchestra on Feb. 26th, 2017, has a full gospel message. The bridge section lyrics are a slight paraphrase of John 3:16 & 17.The SSATB anthem is still available from Lorenz Music at this link:

FBCD Adult Choir and Orchestra members who came for the early Sunday morning rehearsal posed with Travis L Boyd on his final Sunday as Worship Minister, February 26th, 2017. Sorry that we could not take another photo which included those who joined us for the service as well as our members who were out of town. All of you have been a vital part of the worship ministries of FBCD and have been a blessing to the church family.

Travis and our Orchestra
Travis requested the "Ta - dah" photo. Some just smiled, and some did the gesture. It was a smiling moment for all at the end of rehearsal. Thank you all for your love, support, faithfulness, and service to our Lord through worship ministry.

So aware of all your hurts, and all your deepest needs."

The fact that so many visual elements (such as the light columns that Travis made and the decorative wooden grids over the organ speakers) are symmetrical, along with the special lighting effects, puts the visual focus in our worship center on the cross, and that's the way it should always be with everything we do to bring glory to the name of the Lord.
2016 Symphony of Keyboards, First Baptist Church, Duluth, Georgia
Here's a video, posted on youtube, of the entire program for Symphony of Keyboards 2016, which was the 17th annual SOK at FBC, Duluth. Travis L Boyd has edited the video, taking out movement and applause to shorten it, and adding captions which tell the name of each piece and who is playing. He has also added images in places to make the video more visually interesting, but there is still plenty of footage showing the pianists. Unfortunately, those at the back pianos cannot be seen well, but they are identified in the captions. Thank you to all of our nine keyboard artists and to the church family for you attendance and for your support of FBC Duluth Worship Ministries throughout the history of the church. To God be the glory for everything done in His name for the purpose of worship and adoration..
Note: Travis had hoped to have this ready before Christmas but ran into some technical difficulties since his pro editing program no longer supports making DVDs (considered old technology by those who just use video and audio files). He was able to order a couple of additional programs, find the one which worked, and then finally get on the phone with tech support after returning to work following New Year's to solve the final issues. Please email him at church as soon as possible if you would like to have a DVD. (Allow a couple of weeks for your DVD to be copied since Travis will be out of the office some next week.)
