Juneteenth commemorates the day when troops arrived in Galveston, TX, bringing the joyous news of freedom to those who remained in slavery 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Today we reflect on the leaders throughout history, who fought for freedom, and are emboldened to continually seek justice.

One hundred high school students participated in Beyond Success roundtables in a school in Bolivia. Of that group, seventy young people prayed the prayer of faith. Among them, was a young woman named Ángeles who publicly declared that she had found hope and salvation for her life.

The Gospel tells us that Jesus' love for people moved him to lead them. This week, focus on leading with love.

To lead others well, we must help them reach their potential. We must build them up and give them resources, authority, and responsibility. Ultimately, if a leader wants to be successful, they have to be willing to empower others.

Mass movements don’t begin with the masses. They begin with a few! When people can sit around the table together as equal contributors, everyone wins.
