FRIDAY FUN FACT: The Sonny and Cher Variety Show debut in August of 1971. The two performed at the Duluth Armory February 25, 1968.

FRIDAY FUN FACT: This massive safe is located in the Armory's Headhouse, the space where commanders had their offices.
The emblem on it has some significant historical meaning. It is referred to as a "Regimental Crest." It is an espirte de corp device that symbolizes the history and honor of a particular military unit. This particular crest has been worn by Armor (Tank) units stationed in Duluth and some of the Iron Range units.

Friday Fun Fact: This beautiful sculpture was created by Chris Kilbane and took nearly TWO years to complete, is made of reclaimed metal and weighs tons. It was donated to grace the Annex entrance in 2018. Chris stopped by this week to say "hello", what fun!
Duluth Homegrown Music Festival – Sunday April 27 to Sunday May 4, 2025 The Homegrown Music Festival is an annual community celebration of the original and diverse music of Duluth, Minn. and its surrounding communities. What started in 1999 with ten acts has matured to an eight-day community-wide local music, arts and cultural extravaganza.
Our friend, John Saaristo, at Fulcrum Visions created this amazing 3-D tour through the Armory.

We are so proud of our Music Resource Center program! The high level of instruction, practice time and professional mentorship is truly remarkable. The MRC is currently running out of the Sacred Heart Music Center until the Armory restoration is complete.
