School Closing: We are following Gwinnett County Public Schools and are choosing to close today and tomorrow out of an abundance of caution ahead of the storms coming through. We hope everyone stays safe and dry and we will see you back at school on Monday!

What a wonderful first week of school! A huge thank you to all the parking lot and classroom volunteers. Our days ran much more smoothly because of you!

Our teachers did a wonderful job making sure the families were prepared and the children were welcomed with open arms. There were a few tears, but also lots of hugs and reassurance.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing staff and volunteers who support us! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and we'll see you next week!

As we gear up to start our new school year, we are in need of a few school supplies to get our year started! Below are our 2 Amazon lists, one for books and one for school supplies. Anything you can do to help us start our year off, would be a huge help! Whether it's increasing the diversity of our library, purchasing supplies for our teachers, or simply wishing us a great school year, we are grateful for you all!!

These sweet kiddos are moving up to Kindergarten!! We are going to to miss them dearly but can’t to hear about the amazing things they are going to do!! Congratulations graduates!! We love you!!

For our final spotlight, we are recognizing Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Mekensie, and Ms. Talitha!

Ms. Vanessa is one our phenomenal substitutes! She has taken on 2 long term sub positions this year, in addition to regular subbing, and she has been an endless resource of school knowledge as a Board member and former parent. She is always ready to lend a hand around the school whenever anything needs to be done. We are immensely grateful for her dedication, flexibility, and commitment to the students and our school. We don’t know what we would do without her!! In her free time, she enjoys movie nights with her husband and two children, listening to audio books, and traveling.

Ms. Mekensie is our amazing Music Teacher! She has been teaching piano for several years and has a degree in Music Education. Her caring heart, compassion, and enthusiasm for teaching have made her the perfect addition to our school! The children love music class and look forward to seeing her each time she’s here!When she isn’t working, she enjoys playing piano, listening to music, and practicing yoga.

Ms. Talitha is our spectacular Director. She stepped into this role at the end of last year with enthusiasm and passion for the job. She has brought some amazing changes to the school and gotten us up to date on technology. She is loving, caring, and fun. All of the staff and children love her and what she brings to the school! When she isn’t working, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and playing on her Nintendo Switch.

Today we highlight our 3s Dragonfly Class teachers: Ms. Kimberly and Ms. Pooja!

Ms. Kimberly has years of experience in childcare and this is her 2nd year at PHP as a Lead Teacher. Her enthusiasm, kindness, and organizational skills make her an amazing teacher for our 3s class. She helps us think outside the box and genuinely cares about each and every student! In her spare time, Ms. Kimberly likes to read, watch crime dramas, and cheer on the Falcons.

Ms. Pooja joined us for the first time this year and we are so grateful to have her as an Assistant Teacher in our 3s class! She is very dedicated and has developed a wonderful rapport with each of her students. She is excellent at putting students at ease and takes the time to relate to each of them. When she isn’t working, Ms. Pooja likes to dance and watch dance shows and do arts and crafts.

Today’s featured teaching team is Ms. Mona and Ms. Renu in our 3s Ladybug Class!

Ms. Mona has been teaching at Pleasant Hill Preschool for 19 years and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful and dedicated Lead 3s Teacher at our school! Her vast experience and knowledge are an invaluable resource to teachers and students alike. In her spare time she likes to read, go for walks, and craft.

Ms. Renu is finishing her fourth year at PHP as an Assistant Teacher in the 3s class. This year she stepped into leadership positions in her class with ease and flexibility. Her creativity and commitment have been a crucial part of what has made this year run so smoothly! When she isn’t working, she likes to travel, listen to music, and go for long drives.

Our next awesome teaching team is Ms. Ma’Kiya and Ms. Chantal in our 2s Caterpillar Class!

Ms. Ma’Kiya has been working in childcare for years and is currently getting her degree in Social Work from Georgia State! Her fun personality and willingness to learn have made her an awesome Lead Teacher in our 2s Caterpillar class this year. When she’s not working, she loves to travel and spend time with her girlfriend and her family!

Ms. Chantal has years of experience in childcare and education and we were so happy to welcome her as our 2s Assistant Teacher this year! Her calm nature and creative spirit make her an excellent addition to our school, and especially our 2 year old class. In her spare time, she loves to do nails, shop, and spend time with her husband, 6 year old son, and 1 year old daughter!

Our first amazing teaching team is Ms. Tammy and Ms. Shahana in our 4s/PreK class!

Ms. Tammy has been working in education for several years as a classroom aide, art instructor, para pro, and now as our 4s/PreK Lead Teacher! She brings endless creativity and encourages lots of hands on experience for her students. She loves to read, craft, and spend time with her husband and son on the weekends.

Ms. Shahana has been working at Pleasant Hill Preschool for almost 10 years and is the Assistant Teacher for our 4s/PreK class! She excels at helping children tackle difficult skills and is always there to love, encourage, and support them as they learn. In her spare time, she loves to travel, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family.

*Fun fact: Ms. Tammy and Ms. Shahana are both from England!

Happy Valentine’s Day from PHP! We had our annual Valentine’s Craft and Storytime this week. We made crafts, sang songs, and read books about how we can show love to each other. Thank you to our teachers, volunteers, and parents for making the day so special!
