UPDATE
•We have a certified biscuit maker on our hands! The vet staff did a thorough cleaning and flushed over 200 maggots out of his body. The injury was far deeper and more severe than we originally thought. He is on antibiotics and pain medication to help start his healing process. Since there is no skin to put together it will need to heal open air.
•That being said - he is eating, drinking and seeking out attention. He’s currently asleep in our staff members lap and they will monitor him overnight. Now all we can do is wait and see how his body starts to heal. We are nowhere near out of the woods yet.
•Thank you so much to everyone who donated and the staff at BluePearl. His vet bill is covered and the rest of the money will go towards whatever he needs on his journey.

I’m a very outgoing, snuggly and loving little Stinker! I will beg you for attention and meow until I can snuggle with you and purr the day away. Our stray friend from yesterday got a lot of attention-so we wanted to update everyone and let you know he’s doing well! We’ve named him Harry! He is super friendly with a great appetite. Later today he will get his full intake exam; and hopefully we can begin cleaning him up and removing some of the matting if he allows it 🙂

UPDATE: We’re sorry we can’t share more - but we understand the desire for answers and want to provide what we can. We’ve seen all your messages and appreciate the community coming together to provide details and help bring justice to Lovebug. The sheriffs office has spoken with those they needed to and will be moving forward with neglect charges. This is still an open case investigation; so we will keep working with authorities to help in any way we can. The truth has come to light and we will continue this fight for Lovebug. In the meantime, we will be focusing on ways to bring awareness to animal welfare issues in our community and opportunities to ensure Lovebugs story is never forgotten - and his legacy can carry on. Thank you all ❤️

UH OH!!💦 •We had a pipe burst in our ceiling about an hour ago. A technician is onsite assessing the issue.
