This week marks a bittersweet moment for us as we bid farewell to our Senior Director, Terri McGillvrey. We have nothing but endless gratitude for her support of our mission and her embodiment of our spirit of innovation every step of the way. Terri has touched the lives of so many, and her legacy will forever shape our work at RSI.
A message from Terri:
After 17 years of service, the time has come for me to retire from my position at RSI. It is with mixed emotions that I say goodbye to a workplace that has been more than just a job to me; it has been a journey of growth, learning, and meaningful connections.
Reflecting on the years, I am immensely proud of the work we have accomplished together. Serving individuals with disabilities has not only been a professional commitment but a personal passion. Each day brought opportunities to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. I am very grateful to have met so many wonderful people.
🌟 Enjoy your well-earned retirement, Terri! Congratulations!🌟

We're excited to announce our 2023 Employee of the Year...
Tom Sargent! ⭐️
Tom joined our team in 2020 and in his time at the RSI has emerged as a strong and confident leader and an excellent role model for everybody who he works with. Tom leads with pride and empathy, he shows quick thinking and level-headedness in the face of a crisis. Through seasons of change, through loss, and from the day-to-day and the big life stuff, Tom has remained a consistent, supportive presence in the lives of the people he cares for.
Our gratitude goes out to all of the 2023 Employee of the Year candidates at RSI. They all continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the people they support, and we appreciate their efforts now more than ever.
Last month, we shared the remarkable story of Carole, who was unjustly denied her high school diploma in 1961 due to her disability.
Tomorrow, December 12th at 10 a.m. a public ceremony, where Carole's children will receive a signed diploma on her behalf, will be held in the Nashwauk-Keewatin High School Auditorium.
It's wonderful to see Carole's family and community coming together to rectify this injustice that took place over 60 years ago, and to honor Carole and continue to carry out her spirit of advocacy for people with disabilities.

Family thrilled that Nashwauk graduate from 1961 is finally getting signed diploma At long last, Nashwauk-Keewatin is issuing a signed diploma to a woman who was in the class of 1961. Carole Vianne Clark, who had cerebral palsy, was denied gym credit, and the district would not consider her qualified to graduate.
