Picked up some GORGEOUS Cedar and Spalted Sweetgum this past weekend. The shop smells fantastic, lol.

I kept losing the brooms. Situation remedied.

Also, fire safety. The dust collector is the most likely thing to catch fire in my shop. So 1 of 5 fire extinguishers now lives there.

Got a free bandsaw, turned it into a monster.

Added a 6" riser, 3/4hp motor to 2hp, and knocked back a couple of decades of neglect.

The amount of projects this has opened up is a pretty long list!

The lumber collection grows...

Apparently my only piece of Andira doesn't want to be a pen...

Learning to apply a finish to pens, a story in 3 parts.

From a distance they look great. Up close from left to right they're: Terrible, Bad, Okay.
Woods from left to right: Bocota, Bloodwood, and I think the big boy is made of Maccassar Ebony. Not sure on that though. That's the problem with having a pile of unlabeled blanks, lol.

Planning a full day of turning pens tomorrow after a quick trip to Woodcraft in the morning.

Side note, don't use a Slimline kit on a thick boi pen. That center band is looking like a Victorian corset. 🤣

There's still some stuff to do on the workbench, (t-track, closing up drawers, putting in the router table, ply out the bottom,) but quite frankly I've had enough of it for the moment.

Tomorrow, I'm getting into some fun. Little hint in the last photo.

Ya know, one of these things is absolutely not like the other. And I have absolutely no idea how the measurements got changed from what's in the drawing.

If it's worth doing once, it's worth doing twice. Isn't that how the saying goes?

Decided to put all my clamps in one spot for a change.

Need to crank out some projects so I can go buy more. 😂

Finally launched the website. It's still mostly just a place holder, but it's one more thing done! Instagram page is also now linked.

Got my hands on A TON of scroll saw patterns the other day. Might have to get that thing setup while waiting on the wrist to heal and turn out some little projects for you guys!

Wrist is feeling better by the day. (It's a hairline fracture with some strained ligaments to boot.) Obviously no heavy lifting any time soon, but this is the first project up on the to do list.

I got most of the sheet goods cut for this last year (before I almost took the end of my index finger off with a circular saw. Be careful folks!) Next up is cutting down the dimensional lumber and going to lap/half lap town. This thing should be an absolute TANK once it's done. So look for that in the coming weeks!

After that's done, what should I make first? A cutting board? Turn some pens or cups? Maybe a little scroll saw work with a thanksgiving theme? Let me know!
