Megan, an imaging coordinator at our hospital, recently was selected as a WOW! Team Member of the Month. The honor recognizes team members who go above and beyond job descriptions and expectations while supporting other team members and taking care of our patients and customers. Her nomination said, in part: “Megan is vital to the radiology department. First and foremost, her customer service is second to none. She is knowledgeable, concise, professional and compassionate. Megan is a resource for the entire department when needing policy information, staff updates or advice on how to proceed with patients in unique scenarios. Nicholas Limperos, MD, has joined the BayCare Medical Group general surgery office at 1840 Mease Drive, Suite 301, in Safety Harbor, where he sees patients 18 and older. Dr. Limperos is board certified in general surgery and is affiliated with Mease Countryside and Mease Dunedin hospitals. Dr. Limperos prides himself in patient care, demonstrating a commitment to continuing education, remaining cutting edge on surgical technology, and annually ranking among the top in the nation in patient engagement. His passions include minimally invasive and robotic surgery for the treatment of reflux disease, cancer, hernias, and biliary disease. He is also well versed in all facets of general surgery with many years of experience treating emergency conditions such as appendicitis, diverticulitis, bowel obstructions and perforations. Our hospital is in the pink this October to raise awareness of breast cancer. BayCare is joining businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area to drench their buildings in pink as part of the CREW Tampa Bay’s 2024 City in Pink initiative. The mission of CREW Tampa Bay is for the pink to remind community members to be proactive in their health care.

We recently celebrated Health Care Food Service Workers Week. Our Food and Nutrition team makes and serves thousands of meals each week for our patients, visitors and team members. We appreciate all they do to provide delicious and nutritious meal options each day. When we faced the recent hurricanes, the team rallied to ensure everyone in the hospital was well fed. Thank you for all you do!

BayCare announced today it is donating $300,000 to Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic. All three are existing partners in BayCare’s Community Benefit efforts to impact public health. These hurricane contributions are in addition to Community Benefit investments.

Post Hurricanes BayCare Partners with HHS to Increase Emergency Care BayCare and HHS have partnered to expand emergency care for West Central Florida post-hurricanes Milton and Helene with the first Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) in the state.

In response to the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, BayCare would like to make it easier for you to access care and see a doctor should the need arise. We're extending one free telehealth visit for anyone using the BayCareAnywhere mobile app through Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7 a.m. EST.

To get started, download the BayCareAnywhere app or visit BayCareAnywhere.org to create your account. Once registered, you can use the app to begin a telehealth visit and apply the coupon code “MILTON” when prompted.
