In 1989, 🍷found herself enchanted by the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, igniting her passion for winemaking. Eight years later, she boldly opened Rideau Vineyard, becoming the first Black woman to own an American winery, where she delighted patrons with her Rhône grape variety wines and warm hospitality. 🍇

After selling the vineyard in 2016, Rideau embarked on writing her memoir, “One Life Between Two Worlds,” reflecting on her segregated upbringing in New Orleans and her journey in the wine industry.📖

Iris Rideau continues to advocate for in the industry and envisions a more inclusive future for minority entrepreneurs. Rideau’s story is a testament to resilience and trailblazing spirit, inspiring a new generation of winemakers.
