A returning customer called for some new work and I had to capture the moment. 1) the pup is the main reason I wanted to post this pic! He was a warm welcoming committee ☺️ 2) Back in 2021, our customer called and said that they were struggling with mildew growth on the front porch trim and around their front door. After cleaning the trim, we applied 2 coats of Emerald Exterior paint and this is what the door still looks like with no other cleaning or touch up work since! This is what we mean when we say we like to provide value over time!

The process to get to this amazing finish is part of the art.

When each step of the process is carefully executed, you get results of which you can truly be proud.

It’s the masking for me. Because, this home is lived in. Because we cannot mess anything else up. And when the masking is right, we are free to work and maneuver exactly as we want to achieve an amazing finish.

The installation of this finished door is the culmination of a job where our client was originally left stranded by a previous contractor.
The previous door was so poorly painted (and attempted to be repainted by others) that the customer was sent on a long search to find the best possible exterior paint for a new fiberglass door. She never wanted to experience that poor craftsmanship ever again.
Her search led her to where she learned about ECO Satin, a water thinnable alkyd enamel that’s perfect for her door when primed first with FPE’s KEY primer.
As a newly certified Fine Paints of Europe painter, she was sent to us where we coordinated the pick up, initial fit check of the new door, the priming and painting in our shop (as seen in our last reel), and the final installation of the door!
We couldn’t be happier for her and the way the door turned out! The color selected here is Dutch Door Green 3015 in Satin.

When the Alabaster low sheen looks so good on the ceiling, you just have to post it even before the job is complete!

As soon as it dries out and warms up a little, we will be getting some Ipe and Thermory finished and sealed 😎

Whenever asks you to paint balustrades, stair treads, and all things stair trim related and you end up creating this work of art with your plastic and masking 🤩😎😊

Scenes from the shop! Roman Clay samples in the making! 1 coat so far of the color Patagonia. Samples must be made on separate pieces of drywall to get the full effect. On site sampling is a no-no because you won’t be able to hide or cover the samples you don’t choose.

Peak inside the process. Brush work is sometimes best. Other times, masking and spraying is better—even if the area is tricky to mask off, the item to paint isn’t that large in scale, and there is furniture around. But when it’s done, it’s as good as it gets!

When an incredible customer is willing and generous to show off her kitchen we painted 6 years ago to a potential client! We are grateful for her hospitality and proud of the enduring quality we provided her!

Ultimately, these projects, like all of our projects, are more about the people involved. We’ve so enjoyed getting to know those who work within this organization and the efforts they are making to tell yesterday’s stories, good and bad. Now, Hansell Painting gets to be one of the blips on their timeline. 😊
