Former U.S. first lady Rosalynn Carter was a champion and strong voice for affordable, decent housing for all. For more than three decades, she and President Jimmy Carter donated their time and leadership to Habitat each year to build and improve homes around the world. This morning we gathered #durhamhabitat staff and volunteers to raise a wall in honor and remembrance of her positive spirit and fierce determination to improve housing conditions around the world. Thank you Mrs. Carter! #HonoringMrsCarter
We’re partnering with local home builders Garman Homes and J. Hoffman Studio Design + Build for the 2023 Home Builders Blitz. 2 Habitat homes will be constructed from start to finish in just 7 days. #durhamhabitat and the partner builders are embarking on this ambitious week-long project in response to the incredible need for more affordable homeownership opportunities for Durham families. Staff from Garman Homes and J. Hoffman Studio, along with many professional subcontractors, will work sun-up to sun-down all week to construct the two homes. This year’s #BuildersBlitz marks a return to the annual event, which has been on pause since 2019.

Volunteer Appreciation Week 2023
Thank you volunteers! Each year we host thousands of volunteers from the #durhamnc community on our construction and repairs sites. The hard work of these volunteers makes our community building work possible. #VolunteerAppreciationWeek
Thank you! We were blown away with your generosity on #givingtuesday2022. Your gifts to our Critical Repairs program exceeded our $5,000 triple match! We're grateful to be a part of a community that is so invested in helping neighbors in need. In addition to accessibility issues, the Critical Repairs program includes work like plumbing, roofing, heating and/or air conditioning and more. Here's a peek at our team at work on a siding project.
