JusticeMatters

JusticeMatters addresses the roots and repercussions of human trafficking. We envision the freedom and flourishing of all.

We provide trauma-informed legal services and promote just policies and practices throughout North Carolina. Access to stable housing, food, transportation, and medical care are primary determinants of overall wellbeing. We equip our clients to overcome legal obstacles to these and other necessities, including physical safety, legal status, employment, education, social services, and reunification

We invite your generous support today, Giving Tuesday!

It takes all of us to address human trafficking. At JusticeMatters, we provide legal services that protect children and help survivors of human trafficking rebuild their lives.

In Fiscal Year 2023, our staff responded to over 1500 calls requesting legal assistance and served over 550 clients. Some of our clients have survived human trafficking; many more are at heightened risk of exploitation due to lack of legal status in the United States, lack of legal security in a family, or prior experience of trauma. As we protect the rights of our clients and secure legal protections, we reduce the risk of exploitation and promote wellbeing.

We're working to raise $100,000 by January 1 to grow our client services team. A gift in any amount will help!

FNUSA fully opposes HR2601 and all amendments, which would require the National Human Trafficking Hotline to report tips to law enforcement. Survivors of need a safe and confidential place to reach out for help. Turning this hotline into a tipline is dangerous to survivors, a waste of resources, entirely unethical, and inherently a conflict of interest. No bill that impacts survivors should move forward without their input. We are urging Congressman Jerry Nadler Jim Jordan Congressman Adam Schiff Rep. Ted Lieu Pramila Jayapal Rep. Lucy McBath Rep.
