In a recent poll, we asked patients, care partners and advocates about the most challenging aspect of living with a rare condition. While 47% of respondents expressed concerns about the future, 26% cited a lack of awareness among healthcare professionals (HCPs).
These findings are consistent with responses to the "Rare Minds Matter - Mental Health Survey 2023" conducted by Rareminds, one of Parexel's 2024 Corporate Patient Advocacy Partners:
◼️Respondents highlighted that dealing with rare conditions goes beyond managing physical symptoms; it also affects personal identity, self-esteem, family and social relationships, work and finances.
◼️Worrying about the future (63%) and lack of awareness among HCPs (44%) were among the top challenges identified.
