The holidays is upon us, and whether we’re an introvert or extrovert, as humans we are innately social beings. We need social interaction, as it is critical for every aspect of our health. Research confirms that a strong support system and community interaction promotes and help nurture both emotional and physical health.
Here are some key points to consider as you work to maintain your social wellness this holiday season:
💚What is your plan to keep your social wellness in tact? ➡️ Having a plan keeps you operating within your own wellness parameters and not other’s expectations at the expense of your own well-being. It’s quite alright to say no as many times as you need to. Overextending yourself can lead to unnecessary stress.
💚Does social interactions energize you or drain you? ➡️ Always self-assess before making a commitment to any social activity.
💚Did you know there’s power in humor? ➡️Take a humor perspective when possible to keep your interactions as lighthearted as possible. Humor works well as a great defense mechanism against most chaos and anxiety.
💚What do you enjoy most about those you interact with? ➡️Reflect on the good and lovable things about those you are around.
💚How do you plan to practice self-care? ➡️ Yes, maintaining your social wellness does involve some level of self-care. How can you show up as your best self if you haven’t taken some time to care for yourself internally? Social wellness is not just about showing up in the flesh, but also showing up with a sense of internal balance and wellbeing.
💚Who are you really? Do you know the authentic real you? ➡️ One of the most rewarding aspects of showing up as yourself in social situations is you get to see who really connects with you, and you naturally vibe with. Be you at all times. Show up as your authentic self. Yes, it is essential to understand social etiquette and to get a feel of the room; however, you don’t have to “sell out” just to fit in!
💚Do you know your wellness limits? ➡️ If you feel lonely or isolated, seek ways to feel a sense of community, such as places of worship, gym classes, volunteering, etc.
We believe in your ability to

Detox is a "buzz" word that has been increasingly tossed around within the past few years. However, it is very important to understand the seriousness of taking your body through the detox process.
According to Merriam-Webster, detox is "a regimen or treatment to remove toxins and impurities from the body
While enjoying time with loved ones and good food, it’s easy to place our health & wellness goals in the back of our mind.
Instead of playing catch up and having to “deal with” the ramifications of our holiday actions, here are ways to enjoy Thanksgiving while also maintaining a sense of wellness and keep on track with your health & wellness goals 💫
1. Focus on intentionally monitoring your portions. Grab a smaller plate when fixing your meal; therefore, you will not be tempted to pile on too much food at once.
2. Listen to your body & eat slowly! It takes about 20 minutes from the time we start eating for our body to signal if we are full or not. Rushing to eat then going back for another round will cause you to overeat. Your body will indeed tell you when you’ve had enough. Give it time to speak to you.
3. Move after eating! Take a walk or play family games that involve movement. Use your creativity.
4. Relax & don’t stress. Allow yourself to retreat. Do something you enjoy (read, journal, watch a movie, listen to music, sip on your favorite beverage, etc.). Don’t stress about conversations you are not interested in being a part of. Be clear & intentional with your time & energy.
5. Last but certainly not least, be grateful! Gratitude contributes to our wellness more than we know! A mindset of gratitude invokes positive feelings and decreases stress & anxiety!
Enjoy and take these small steps so you can help maintain your wellness!
Ladies, with everything going on in our lives and society, from to continuous breaking news to the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we would like to encourage you and send a gentle reminder to take time this year to give attention to the health of your breast.
Often times it’s very easy to become busy tending to day to day tasks and neglect this essential organ.
Hopefully this information will serve as a reminder to implement these wellness tips into your life.

Happy Monday! Just a quick reminder to move your body. Our body needs it!
We often times indicate exercise & physical activity as the same thing:
* Physical activity is any activity that works your muscles & requires energy & can include household or leisure activities.
* Exercise is a planned, structured & repetitive body movement done to improve or maintain physical fitness.
As we can see, physical activity and exercise are not the same thing, however, we must point out both can overall be beneficial to your health.
Happy Moving!
Day 11 - Earthing and your mental health & wellness.
Earthing, although trendy, is not a new phenomenon. Earthing has been done for centuries and has been scientifically proven to be beneficial to our overall health by supplying our body with electrons directly from the earth. These electrons neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS, aka free radicals) involved in the body's immune and inflammatory responses which reduce acute and chronic inflammation.
Earthing helps with:
* Chronic fatigue.
* Chronic pain.
* Anxiety and depression.
* Stress.
* Sleep disorders.
* Cardiovascular disease.
* And other illnesses...
So, what in the world is earthing? It’s simply walking barefoot outside, with the soles of your feet free to directly connect with the surface of the earth - sand/dirt or grass. It can also include direct contact with water, such as the lake or beach.
The best thing about earthing is that it’s super simple, completely free and can be done anywhere, at any time.

Day 10 - bereavement & grieving a loss & the affects on your mental health
The loss of a loved one is life's most stressful event & can cause a major emotional crisis.
When a death takes place, you may experience a wide range of emotions, even when the death is expected. Many people report feeling an initial stage of numbness after first learning of a death, but there is no real order to the grieving process. Some emotions you may experience include: denial, confusion, shock, acceptance, sadness, yearning, anger, humiliation, despair, guilt.
These feelings are normal & common reactions to loss. You may not be prepared for the intensity & duration of your emotions or how swiftly your moods may change. You may even begin to doubt the stability of your mental health. But be assured that these feelings are healthy & appropriate & will help you come to terms with your loss.
Remember: It takes time to fully absorb the impact of a major loss. You never stop missing your loved one, but the pain eases after time & allows you to go on with your life.
When you lose a loved one, you will mourn & grieve. Mourning is the natural process you go through to accept a major loss. Grieving is the outward expression of your loss. Your grief is likely to be expressed physically, emotionally, & psychologically (ex: crying or depression).
Often, death is a subject that is avoided, ignored or denied. Someday those feelings will need to be resolved or they may cause physical or emotional illness.
Coping with death is vital to your mental health. The best thing you can do is allow yourself to grieve. There are many ways to cope effectively with your pain:
•Seek out caring people
•Express your feelings
•Take care of your health
•Accept that life is for the living
•Postpone major life changes
•Be patient
•Seek outside help when necessary
With support, being patient with yourself & putting in effort, you will survive grief. As time goes on the pain is a little easier to bear & you will begin to cherish memories of your loved one.
