As the sun sets on The Grange General Store (**closing March 31st! Huge Spring BLOWOUT SALE THIS WEEK ONLY!**) …ahem…

…please join me in saying the REALLEST THANK YOU EVER to BECKY REIMER, manager and mother to the Grange General Store! We feel called to shout out Becky’s 3.5 years of General Store service (don’t worry, Becky fans, she ain’t going nowhere!)

You may recall, the Grange General Store hatched amidst the Covid chaos, to ensure the good people of Duvall had the pantry provisions they needed during the months of supply chain breakdowns. Becky, dear friend of Sarah and Luke’s, gamely consented to their pleas to run a store at the Grange. But little did Sarah and Luke suspect the MERCHANTILE GODDESS Becky would become in these 3 ½ years…Becky (along with Ann Marie Gill, website guru) enabled the store to serve customers online. She layered in garden and food-growing supplies into store inventory to meet the surging demand for DIY food-growing during Covid. She topped it all off with crafts and artwork to showcase our local artists! Becky was behind online event ticket sales, art shows, wine tastings, music on the patio series, Tuesday Community Nights…Becky DOES IT ALL, as you see. That is what you get when you hire the kindest, smartest, BEST TEAM PLAYER IN THE WORLD!

Becky, we truly cannot describe the love, gratitude and respect we feel for you. You have been the BEST SHOPKEEP the retail world has ever seen: fully engaged with your vendors and your customers, super tasteful with your purchases and displays, creative in your merch arrangements, always practicing great communication with your fellow managers, placating those pesky owners.

Now that Becky is not beholden to a store, she will continue to serve as our KICKASS Social Medium (YES, they are all Becky photos!) as well as our Events Manager for private parties. She will be helping pull off all the farm events we have planned this year, and will still help organize our patio music series and Tuesday Community Nights. Which is freaking AWESOME, for we fear the Grange would spring a leak if not for Becky’s continued contributions to this community!!! THE GRANGE + BEX FOREVER!!!

We’ve got sales throughout the store! At the end of March we will be turning the store space over to tables for the restaurant, so come in soon and shop from local artists!

Month of March - Grange General Store Sale!

Well, times they are a-changing. If you’ve been in to the Grange to eat lately then you’ve seen how busy it can be, especially on the weekends. In light of the uptick in business that this past year has brought, we are reimagining the General Store space and condensing its footprint to allow for more dining table space.

Over the next month we will be selling off our grocery and purchased inventory and honing in on what we will be able to still carry in the much smaller store area. Our focus will be on Grange made products and merch, Hearth Farm produce and products, and if space allows, some locally made art and goods. We will continue to highlight artists on our wall space and hope to keep the spirit of local art alive as much as we can.

It has been an amazing 3+ years of running the General Store, and we’ve come a long way since those first days back in November 2020. Hard to believe that we were in the thick of COVID then and the store was selling flour, yeast, and butter because you couldn’t find them in the regular grocery stores. The store inventory changed a lot over the years as we tried to hone in on what our shoppers wanted and needed, while supporting local artists and makers as well. We are proud to say that we’ve easily had over 75 different local artists, makers, and producers sell their goods at the Grange General Store during its time. An ode to this fabulous valley and region, and its talented artists and makers!

So, come in this month and shop the sale for some deals on your favorite products, and also support the local commissioned artists that we still have throughout the store!

The best thing, though, is the good feeling that comes from breaking bread with your community, being a part of our special valley, strengthening the community fabric.
