Meet our incredible summer interns! Say hello to Alex, Julia, and Anders! 👋

Alex and Julia will be working with our Kids Ministry team, leading Vacation Bible School and more! Meanwhile, Anders is diving into his role with Easter through the ELCA summer internship program!

“Hello my name is Alex Rickheim (she/her) and I am a 3rd year student at the University of Minnesota. I am majoring in Biology and minoring in music ensemble performance. I have worshiped at Easter my whole life and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to work here with the amazing staff this summer!!!”

“Hello all! My name is Julia Peterson, and I will be a senior at Gustavus Adolphus College this fall. I am majoring in Instrumental Music Education, and am hoping to be a secondary band director in the future. I enjoy playing the piano and saxophone, being outdoors, doing creative hobbies like crocheting and painting, and staying connected to my faith. I am looking forward to a fun-filled summer planning and leading VBS, engaging in community outreach, and growing closer to God and everyone at Easter!”

“I’m a 19-year-old from the West Side of Saint Paul. I just finished my freshman year at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA where I’m double majoring in Secondary Education and English. On campus, I’m a leading member of the school’s Bible study, Deepwater. I also run Track and Cross Country for Cornell. I’m passionate about teaching, music, outreach work, worship, and movies. I’m very excited to be working with Easter through the ELCA summer internship program! When I’m not working this summer, I’ll be easy to spot running around the cities for my Cross Country summer training!”

Our first scheduled outdoor worship of the season today is moving indoors! We thought we could beat the rain. The rain won. See you for worship in the Great Room at the Lake at 9 am!

From empathy-building exercises to discovering our strengths, our staff development day was filled with growth and laughter. Huge thanks to Lutheran Social Services and Marri Guggisberg for guiding us through! Wrapping up with Whirlyball was the perfect way to unwind and have some fun.😄

Would you like to know more about the Civil Rights Movement? Six Easter members traveled to Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee to learn about the Civil Rights Movement in the 50’s and 60’s. From desegregation of school, public places, and transportation to voting rights, join us at the last Soul Sisters of the season to hear their journey firsthand.
