When you arrive in Land O'Lakes to see our beautiful fall colors, this is a must stop location as you travel the area. The start of the river is less than 30 feet across. From this point in flows southwest. It gathers water and size as each small creek and river adds to the volume. Eventually the Wisconsin River will be 420 miles long, and over a mile wide until it is a tributary to the mighty Mississippi River near Prarie du Chien.
In our backyard, near Land O'Lakes, these waters of Lac Vieux Desert eventually join the Gulf of Mexico.
