We want to extend a big thank you to John Mike Coggeshall for coming to the library last night and speaking about his newest book, "Something in These Hills: The Culture of Family Land in Appalachia." People who are from this area have a very special connection to this land and Mike’s new book does an excellent job at trying to describe this unique bond to those who can’t relate .If you weren’t able to make it last night and want to pick up a signed copy of one of Mike’s books, head over to Poor Richard's Booksellers to grab one while supplies last.

I hate doing things before I have to as much as anyone else. Unfortunately, the supply chain has a lot of weak links again this year. Thus, we are encouraging everyone to get started early. Or at least come in and pretend you're shopping for others. We won't tell anyone.
