Offseason thoughts….. We ready to get back to the grind

The Greenwood School District continues to mourn the loss of Isaiah, Wendy, and Vivian. We are truly thankful for your support and prayers for our community and schools.

We just finished up a successful fall season and looking to add a few athletes to help us for 2025 Spring season. We will be getting ready to put in work over this winter and looking for like minded athletes and families to join us in preparations. These girls are excited to hit the field with 42 other teams in the Diamond Legacy Events Diamond State 10U Invitational tournament this weekend. This is our final tournament of fall 2024. They are excited to battle it out and give it their all.
Come support these girls as they face the toughest competition across the country this weekend in Hot Springs, AR.

These girls went and played 6 games this weekend finishing 4-2 in a 12 team bracket. No, we didn’t bring home any hardware but these girls once again competed all day in every game, never giving up. The losses will turn into lessons this week as we prepare for our final tournament this fall. The growth this team has seen since this spring has been astronomical and we can’t wait to get to offseason to get even better. This team had fun all day and left it all on the field.

This weekend our girls played some very good competition in Hot Springs. Our girls went 3-2 and landed in 4th place. The way these girls are growing week in and week out is amazing to see. It wasn’t the results we wanted, but this was the best weekend overall that we’ve seen from them. From growth, effort, energy, playing loose and having fun, the results will come in time. We’re celebrating small wins and learning along the way what it means to compete!

These girls battled yesterday. They battled 4 games back to back starting the day at 9:00am in the winners bracket. After a long 6.5hr break, they battled in the championship game. Coming out with a 🥈 place finish, they learned instead of lost. They learned what to do in the next tournament. They learned what it takes to win a championship going forward. They learned to be more focused, more attention to detail, and more awareness in those game that mean the most. Proud is an understatement because they never gave up and played as a team instead of individuals for the first time in a while. They are coming together to learn how to be the best and compete every single time they are on the field.

Not many pics today on this rainy Championship Sunday and it definitely didn’t end the way these girls wanted it to….but these girls played for a much bigger purpose this weekend.
Proud of the growth that these girls showed and the fight they showed every game. Growth doesn’t happen over night and these girls are willing to put the work in each week to get where they want to be.

Proud of these girls and this team. They responded today, answered the challenges that was given to them this week in practice, and gained some confidence in themselves. They went 1-1 in pool play losing by 1 run, and then won their first bracket game.
Championship Sunday starts tomorrow at 9AM for these girls. Let’s go Be Elite!

Not many pics were taken this weekend in Ruston, LA but these girls had fun, competed, and learned some valuable lessons. We have a long ways to go to be where we want to be, but we will get back to work to make sure we get there. These girls want to work, they are hungry, and we won’t stop grinding!

Our girls hit the field this weekend for our first fall tournament of 2024. We are excited and ready to put in the work. We play a very good Lightning 2K14 team and then a highly competitive Impact Gold La Premier 2K14 team. Bracket play starts Saturday afternoon.
