AAPC family, we hope that all is well with you and your family! We want to extend an invitation to join the District African American Parent Council of PUSD (AAPC) on Tuesday, October 1st to discuss the idea of Possibility Thinking during our second meeting of the 2024-25 school year! The meeting is virtual and can be joined using this meeting link.
We are excited to hear from Dr. KiMi Wilson, Founder of Equation 2 Success. Dr. Wilson will engage in a discussion around the districtwide Black Student and Family Task Force that he led last year and an update on what has culminated from that work.
We will also hear from Dr. William Syms, Vice President of Student Services at West Los Angeles College. A PUSD graduate and current PUSD parent, Dr. Syms will speak about a pathway he helped to develop to support students in their journey from high school to college that is culturally centered, allowing us to dream big for what post-secondary success could look like in our district.
We look forward to seeing you virtually on Tuesday, October 1st from 6-8pm as we continue this educational and racial justice work together! Please pass the flyer and agenda along to parents and community members who would benefit from this conversation!
Best,
