What an absolute treat it is for me to be able to photograph friends that I haven’t seen in many years.

Adriana lived in Providence many moons ago and came up last week from New York to do one of my “As I Am” Sessions (show up as you are - no photoshop or filters, all done within 2 hours).

It was so great to not only see and photograph Adriana, but to meet and photograph her son as well.

Adriana as a great mom and she and her son are a beautiful team.

They even have a small business called Lost Wonders where they’ll write you a story for any of your lost or stolen objects as a nice way to remember them. All fees are donated towards supporting Venezuelan refugees in NYC who have lost their homes, livelihoods and much more.

What a gift to be able to create these special images and memories together. Thank you Adriana and Rui.

Here’s what I think…

You deserve time for yourself. You’re worth it. Find things that bring you joy, and help you relax. Your mind and your body will thank you for it later. And if you have kids, they’re always watching. They’ll learn to take care of themselves if they see you doing it too. ⁣

These images of Jess are un-retouched, un-filtered. I didn’t realize how expressive a face she had until I got to photograph her yesterday. She’s absolutely beautiful in every way. ⁣This “As I Am” session was a moment for her to stop and take time for herself and celebrate. Can I get an Amen?!!!
⁣
Jess is a Senior Pediatric Physical Therapist in Rhode Island, a mom of two and a dear friend. ⁣

When I asked her what this experience was like, she said “This is the ultimate self-care experience, super fun, and great for your self-esteem.” ⁣

I want to share a moment with you.

A moment where a client reached out to me yesterday to tell me they were having a tough week.

But that they had also came across one of their favorite photos from their session with me from a year ago and said it made them feel a bit more empowered heading into their day.

It’s moments like these that fill me up, remind me that finding photography and following that passion has totally been the right path for me.

There’s is something so powerful about helping my clients realize the beauty and strength that lies within them. And then capturing it in a photo and having them be reminded it’s still there, even if it’s been a rough week. A special thank you to my client for relaying that story.
