Every day we have the honor of meeting so many amazing animals and their owners and we were delighted to meet Silver and his loving owner who brought him in due to a huge mass growing on the side of his leg. Our staff fell in love with Silver immediately and his medical team recommended that the mass be removed and sent out for further testing. Unfortunately Silver's owner has been facing some financial hardships and she was planning to take out a loan to pay for a portion of the surgery. Our staff wanted to help so they reached out to our friends at Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue who promptly stepped up to help cover part of Silver's medical care so that his owner would not need to take out a loan.

We are so thankful to be able to help Silver and his family and we are asking that everyone say some prayers that Silver's surgery goes well and that he has a smooth and easy recovery. 💙🐾

We were contacted about these beloved dogs who are missing in Detroit. Their loving owner misses them very much and we are asking for everyone's help by sharing this post and keeping a lookout.

Sweet Abby is one of our adorable patients who underwent heartworm treatment a few months back. We are happy to report that today she officially tested negative for heartworm!💙🐾

🐾💙🐾💔PARVO SEASON💔🐾💙🐾
We have seen numerous puppies in the past 2 weeks, some owned and some through rescue groups, that are testing positive for parvo. Please make sure your puppies are fully vaccinated. We are also asking for some prayers for these little ones that are currently fighting for their lives.

We are so thankful for all the area rescue groups who are working hard to help the voiceless. 💙🐾

We are beyond excited to announce that our sweet rescued girl Georgia has stolen the heart of the wonderful veterinarian who operated on her and saved her paw so....Dr. Mallory and her family have decided to adopt her!! Georgia is such a lucky girl and she has an amazing life to look forward to!!

She is already employee of the month!😂😘🐾

🐾💙HOMELESS TO HIRED💙🐾
Sweet Bella came to us homeless yesterday but once she got to the hospital she wowed everyone with her adorable personality and keen office skills. She quickly received an employment offer from APAWS Veterinary Hospital- Detroit and we have no doubt she soon will be running the show. 😂

But seriously she is the most adorable little girl and we promise her the beautiful life that she deserves is here. ♥️♥️🐾

🐾💙RESCUED FROM ANIMAL CRUELTY 💙🐾
Today our staff met this sweet girl who was rescued by our friends at Eastpointe Police Animal Control Division who confiscated her from a cruel and inhumane situation. We are so thankful for ACO Miranda who continually demonstrates that animal abuse and cruelty will not be tolerated in the City of Eastpointe.

This sweet girl now can look forward to a much better life in a loving home.

We have another adorable girl here receiving treatment for mange. Star Lulu is such a sweet girl and should be feeling much better in no time. 💙🐾

🐾🩵SERVING OUR COMMUNITY 🩵🐾
Today our amazing staff is working hard to help a lot of animals coming in through rescue groups, animal control agencies and the general public. We have both surgeries suites in use and our amazing veterinarians are not just providing spay/neuter procedures but they also have some specialty lifesaving surgeries for animals with masses, strictures and other life threatening medical issues.

We are so proud of our dedicated staff who go above and beyond for these precious animals and we are also thankful for the support of our community.

We are so happy for our star patient King!! He survived the unthinkable and is now looking forward to his much better life. 💙🐾

It's hard to even think about what poor King went through. Detroit Police found him in a home with extensive wounds. They brought him to the amazing folks at Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue who immediately rushed him for veterinary care. It was determined that the injuries to his face, mouth, and ribs had been caused by a sharp weapon, and he underwent a 3 hour surgery where his broken body was careful stitched back together.

We were honoured when our friends at Pit Crew asked if we would be willing to help King find a home here across the river. There was no way we could say no to this sweet fellow who, despite what he went through, loves people.

King is about 4 years old, and has been good with the dogs he met. He is a talkative pupper, so would likely be best to avoid apartment living (or living next to grouchy neighbours). He knows what it's like to have his heart broken by a human, and all he wants is someone to love who will never break his heart again. Could that be you?

These little ones were rescued by our friends at Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue as they had been found wandering the streets of Detroit. They are so sweet and have been named Butterfly and Blossom. 🩵🐾 We are thankful to our staff for working hard to help so many of the forgotten, abused and abandoned animals that we see coming in for care.

🐾💙STUDENT VETERINARIAN CHASE💙🐾.
We were so EXCITED to see our friend and possible future veterinarian Chase today as he came in to help out for the third year in a row! Today Dr. Chase got to examine the sweetest girl Tink and we are happy to report that sweet Tink got a clean bill of health!

We love having Chase and his family come in for "take your child to work day" and we hope that Chase pursues a career in animal welfare or possibly vet med!

Today it is a very special day for us here at APAWS Veterinary Hospital as we celebrate 2 years providing medical care to both owned pets, as well as to rescued animals that come to us through various animal welfare organizations and other municipalities throughout the Metro Detroit area.

We are so happy to be able to help so many wonderful animals and we want to thank our clients, our partnered rescued groups and our animal control agencies for being with us along this journey.

Also.. we want to thank our wonderful staff members who work hard everyday to make a difference in the lives of the animals we are treating and caring for. Veterinary Medicine can be heartbreaking at times, but also rewarding and we are thankful to have such a compassionate and amazing team of veterinary professionals helping so many animals.

🐾💙Ms. Wiggles💙🐾
This sweet girl was rescued from the streets of Detroit by some very kindhearted folks that wanted to give her a better life. Sadly she is producing milk but her rescuers told us that someone took her puppies and left her behind.

Our friends at Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue stepped up to pay for all of Wiggles' veterinary care through their Montana's Fund and before Wiggles was done getting her exam, vaccines and a heartworm test, we made sure to hook her up with 3 warm jackets, a collar, harness, bandana, prevention and some good quality food.

Wiggles will be coming back to see us in a few weeks to get spayed, boostered vaccines and a Proheart injection and we can't wait to see her again.

Welcome to the good life sweet Wiggles. You are an amazing sweet girl with a much better life ahead.

As some of you may know we assist may animal welfare organizations as well as animal control agencies and municipalities with injured or sick animals that are being rescued.

Today our friends at Eastpointe Police Animal Control Division brought in this little girl for care and boy is she sweet. Thank you to these officers for going above and beyond!

Our staff made sure these two rescued pups got capstars and flea baths. They are now officially flea free! Thank you to our friends at Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue for rescuing these little ones.
