Dear CNUSD Families, As we wrap up this year and look ahead to the start of the 2021-22 school year, I'd like to provide you with an update regarding the latest information.

CNUSD intends to return to a full instructional day next school year within CDPH guidelines (pre-pandemic bell schedules).

Here's what we know so far:
▶️ Masks, social distancing, and temperature checks will still be required
▶️ In order to accommodate a full return within these guidelines the District is working to:
1️⃣ Acquire additional outdoor lunch tables
2️⃣ Acquire additional portable facilities for elementary and year-round school sites
3️⃣ Hire additional staffing to accommodate smaller class sizes

We anticipate the CDPH to update their school guidance in the coming months and we will update our safety protocols, as needed. We will continue to keep you informed of any changes through regular updates in our newsletters.

We’re having an Appreciation Fiesta!
We are beyond lucky to have the best teachers and staff and are so excited to celebrate them at our Teacher Appreciation “Lunch on the Lawn”.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the PTSA and River Heights Intermediate School throughout the year. We truly appreciate all your donations and are so grateful to all of our members. Your donations have contributed to purchasing safety barricades and social distancing floor stickers as well as providing for student supplies.

Earlier this fall, Eastvale student and 8th grader at River Heights Intermediate school, Nathan Kaller, used his time in distance learning to unite kids through a love of reading. 📚

In October, he started a virtual book club with other students, hoping to mentor younger students while providing a volunteer opportunity. “With reading, you get to socialize with other people,” said Kaller, 13, who is also president of his school’s National Junior Honor Society chapter. “It’s a good way to forget about all the bad things going on in the world.”

Elementary and secondary schools in the Corona Norco Unified School District reopened in March, but the book club continues its weekly online format and has grown district-wide.
