Sylvia's: A Supernatural Coffee Bar
Sylvia the Ghost's favorite Italian espresso coffees, teas, cocoas and more in historic Eatonton; GA
For all you Eatonton coffee lovers, as promised Sylvia's Coffee will re-open on Thursday morning August 15 regular hours (7:30AM-2:00PM), and also be open on Friday 8/16, Saturday 8/17 (the Georgia Trust's Eatonton Expedition Day), and Monday 8/19 same hours. As always, fresh dairy milk and tasty pastries too! C'mon over!
To Paris, France from Eatonton, Georgia: Sylvia's Coffee makes it into the Paris 2024 Olympic Village across the broad shoulders of USA Water Polo Olympian Rachel Fattal! (Betcha we'd've knocked all the global athletes' socks off if only we could've brewed some Spooky Good Coffee in the Village....)
Again the USA Women came oh-so-close falling to Netherlands 11-10 at the very last second of the Bronze Medal Game despite a broad effort including another goal by Rachel. A heartbreaker for sure but so proud of our niece (and all the ladies on the team) for four years of effort along a very winding road to a so-close-to-storybook ending. Rachel Fattal we are honored by your effort and skills and proud to stand with you and your terrific teammates!
Oh gosh oh golly, here comes USA vs Australia for the Semi-finals starting in 10 minutes to set who plays for THE GOLD! We need some major caffeine to calm us down!
Just in case anyone was wondering where Sylvia's Coffee crew really is... this view kinda sums it up rather tres bien, oui?! At the Champs de Mars, the field beside the Tour Eiffel and venue for beach volleyball....
"The beat goes on...." I mean, what is a coffee lover to do in Paris, but sample plus de cafe?!?! (Plus, et plus, et plus....)
Wowee wowee! USA got past Hungary in the Womens Water Polo quarter-final match 5-4 on a last goal by our very own Rachel! What a nail-biter and tough, tough match! It's on to the Semi-Finals next against Australia. C'mon root for Team USA!
Sampling more cafes au lait a Paris au petit-dejeuner (et au-dela)! ("When in Paris, do like a Parisian!...") Sylvia's team never tires of the testing...
Action shot: USA Womens Water Polo team on the march! (er, tide...) Rachel added two goals of her own to the last game... here's the reverse 180 twist shot... what an exciting sport! What an exciting team! What an exciting place! Oh - and the coffee...!
Visiting Paris is not only for sport - there's also serious work to do, keeping up with the local Parisian coffee scene - terrific tastes and setups abound! Such hard work!
Yep walks it like he talks it. The man is true class!
And here we are with a real honest-to-Sylvia's Olympian, our niece Rachel Fattal ( #4 water polo team) outside the Aquatic Centre just after playing the tough match with Italy -- the USA is STILL in the running for a GOLD MEDAL! Watch with us and cheer on the USA Women, too!
Greetings from Paris! The Sylvia's Coffee creue has landed in the City of Light! Joined by our son Gabriel, we are already overwhelmed by the sights, sounds, cheers, and - yes, tastes, of Paris! (But we're mastering the Metro pretty speedily, thank goodness!) Much more to follow - keep yer eyes peeled here!
Sylvia's Coffee will be open this week on Thursday 7/25, Friday 7/26, and Saturday 7/27 from 7:30AM-2:00PM, then closed for 2 weeks to sample fine French coffee and root for Team USA, reopening on Thursday August 15!
