6 months grow out all freshened up!

The goal is to ensure your hair grows out seamlessly. If you really wanted to push it longer before you come in again, you should be able to.

Strategic placement and soft feathering allow for the lines to be diffused and subtle. It's like painting little details into the hair. This is why an appointment can range up to multiple hours. But the results are to be long-lasting and can become a lived-in look.

This was only a toning session just to deposit warmth back on the grays that are growing out and to neutralize the brass in her hair. The grays contrast quite harshly against her skin tone, so warming it up complements her much better.

We chose blending instead of covering it because covering requires a permanent color, which will create a harsh demarcation line and ultimately reset her journey to embracing her grays. The goal is that she won't need to cover them anymore and allow it to grow out. But as of now, we need to blend it to balance with the rest of the hair.

She said, it doesn't matter what you do, I just want to be blonde.

We removed the pinks and purples sitting on her hair, then dried her hair and added baby lights. That wasn't all; I took the extra step of doing a base break so her natural base color wouldn't contrast so harshly against the blonde. This created a soft brown base that complemented the honey blonde highlights, which brightened her up without washing her out.

If you ask me, this is the best blonde hair to pair with summer!

Embracing her silver sparkles.

She was looking to transition out of monthly root touch-ups and needing to color her hair to conceal her grays. The goal is to allow her regrowth to come in without needing to cover it up anymore and let the grays become the natural highlights in the hair.

It was a 9 hour transformation to meticulously pick out the salt from the pepper and separate them for highlighting and lowlighting.

There were a lot of factors to her hair with old highlights, a band of permanent color, and base color we needed to work through. Due to this, she was aware that it would not be perfect this first time around.

In order to give the best balance, we had to warm up the grays and cool down the highlights to meet in the middle. This is all done with demi-permanent color, which will fade out in about 6 weeks to not create harsh lines or bands in the hair. So, although there will still be some maintenance, it will be an easier way to transition out of continuous coloring in the long run.

Pops of colors are something I don't get to do often, but it really sparks the creative side of things for me.

Dark to blonde in one go ⁉️

I get this often where clients express that they are told they can't go from black to blonde in one session. Most places average 2-3 hours per client - due to different types of hair that can average that short amount of time to achieve the look wanted.

And you have to go back another time or two. So 3 of those 2-3 hour sessions have now averaged 6-9 of your time in a span of 3 months or so, not to mention the cost you invested into it.

This is why a blonding session for dark hair can and will average 6-9 hours here and priced accordingly.
If we can, we will get it right the first time, and you can enjoy your hair for the months to come.

⚠️ However, make no mistake. This does not apply to all dark hair. If your hair was previously colored, going from dark or red, purple, blue, etc, to blonde in one go is highly unlikely. Dark pigments are usually strong and meant to last, hence the difficulty of trying to remove it and lighten it up

My client had virgin hair, and her last haircut was over a year ago. I love that she was ready and willing to go all out!

Here is some background knowledge on 2 different styles of services ranging from techniques to colors.
--Highlights are right to the roots and placed in a repetitive pattern to create that piecey, ribbon-like look. The regrowth will appear more noticeable, thus potentially needing to touch it up by 6-8 weeks.

--Teasy lights are softly diffused by the roots and strategically placed for a lower maintenance routine. The regrowth will look blended and less harsh of contrast as your hair grows out. This could potentially hold over for 6-9 months before you find that you really need to do your hair again.

Continuing painting on a canvas that has been colored previously can be tricky sometimes. The challenge is finding the tiny, fine lines that were last drawn and connecting from there to finish the artwork.

We know what the end goal is, but how do we get there? Improvising on the spot and picking through pieces to figure out where to start can get scary. One wrong stroke of the brush, and it becomes another problem to correct.
