“Hello! My name is Katie Harris. I am a rising senior at NC State University majoring in Agricultural Science with a minor in Extension Education. In my free time I enjoy reading and exploring new places. After graduation, I plan to pursue a career with NC Cooperative Extension. Also, I am so excited to spend the summer in Chowan County!”
Ryland 4-H Club members are auctioning off these beautiful Nature Pinch Pots that they created at their May club meeting! These pots are the perfect size to hold jewelry or small trinkets. Any money raised from this auction will be used to purchase supplies for future club meetings.
How It Works: Each image is labeled with the 4-Her that created that pinch pot (same pot pictured at two angles). If you'd like to place a bid on a pot, simply enter your bid in the comment section of that particular pot. Bidding will run until 12:00PM on Tuesday, May 14th. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction will be contacted via Messenger to arrange pick up.

Pesticide Disposal Collection Day
North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, in cooperation with the Perquimans County Cooperative Extension, will be offering a Pesticide Collection Day for residents in Perquimans County and surrounding counties. The local site manager will be Jared Harrell, County Extension Director and Livestock Agricultural Extension Agent for Perquimans County. Collection will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Southern States, 330 Ballahack Road, Hertford, NC 27944.
Nearly all pesticide products will be accepted. For liquid pesticide containers larger than 5 gal or for unlabeled pesticides, please contact the Perquimans Cooperative Extension Office for information before bringing to the collection event. No gas cylinders are accepted at the event; however, assistance information can be provided. Contact the Perquimans Cooperative Extension Office for more information.
