ALUMNI REUNION JUNE 15TH, 2024

Dear Oaklawn alumni,
Greetings and blessings to all of you and your families. We have decided upon the dates mentioned above to host a final alumni and prior formation team members reunion. This is due to the insistence of many of you to come and visit your Academy one last time before it closes its doors forever.
Suggested travel dates for this event would be to arrive in Wisconsin on June 14th, 2024, and depart on June 16th, 2024. These arrival and departure dates are suggestions, and you will schedule your dates according to your own schedules.
On June 15th, 2024, Oaklawn will host this one-day event for all its ex-students and prior formation members. Plan on arriving in the morning around 10:00am and departing approximately 8:00pm that night. A full schedule of events will be sent in a few weeks. These will include morning coffee or refreshments, name tag distribution, tours, testimonies from past and present directors, testimonies from past students. Appetizers and a late afternoon gala lunch.
Minors, under 21’s and Oaklawn’s responsibilities
- As some of our ex-students may be minors, (younger than 18 years old) they will have to be accompanied by an adult that is at least 25 years old. With a ratio of 8 minors for every adult.
- Any ex-student or formation member younger than 21 may not partake in any acholic beverages during the event. Wisconsin law requires that any establishment or gathering may not serve alcoholic to persons under the age of 21.
- Oaklawn is not responsible for any ex-students or prior formation members attending the alumni reunion. Every ex-student or prior formation member in the category they find themselves, is responsible for all transportation to and from and during the event.
- Oaklawn will not provide accommodations for any ex-student or prior formation member. All alumni will need to find their own accommodation.
The cost for attending the alumni event for ex-students will be $250.00 per person to cover all aspects of the event. If you are coming with a sibling or family member each additional member will pay $200.00. You may visit our website and make your payment there.

If you cannot attend the alumni reunion and you are in the Chicago area during the next few months, please feel free to contact me with your proposed dates so I can organize a tour of the Academy for you. I know several of you are sending your sons to the Summer Camp this year so I’m sure that you may want to visit us at the beginning or at the end of the camp.

Oaklawn va a realizar nuestro último campamento de verano!! Ya pueden mandar a su nieto, su hijo o su hermano pequeño al campamento. Ellos podrán g***r de este increíble “mejor mes” de sus vidas.
Nos gustaría mucho animarte y verte cuando traigas a tu hijo, tu nieto o hermano pequeño a Oaklawn para que podamos saludarte y acompañarte mientras das un último paseo "por el camino de los recuerdos", recorriendo los pasillos, las aulas, los dormitorios... y los terrenos de tu querida Academia. De esta manera podrás despedirte personalmente…

Me imagino que el aforo se alcanzará rápidamente así que no dudes en inscribir pronto a tu hijo, nieto o hermano pequeño. Espero que estén todos bien y disfrutando de la gracia de Dios en sus vidas. Muchos de ustedes acaban de enviar a sus hijos a la escuela después de las vacaciones de verano. Rezo para que este sea su mejor año hasta ahora. Algunos de ustedes también van a volver al colegio y también pido que aprovechen cada momento, “¡No cuentes los días, haz que los días cuenten!
Aquí en Oaklawn el equipo está listo para recibir mañana una nueva generación de estudiantes en nuestra querida escuela. El equipo también está muy emocionado de ayudarles en su formación integral. Únanse con nosotros en oración para encomendar a estos nuevos estudiantes y sus familias para que Dios los bendiga y proteja este año escolar.
Por favor, mantengan en sus oraciones a los nuevos colaboradores; este año todos son exalumnos. Ellos se preparan a ser “hermanos mayores” y brindarles a sus nuevos “hermanos menores” la formación que recibieron hace unos años cuando eran estudiantes en Oaklawn. Pronto estaremos en contacto de nuevo con todos ustedes para compartir novedades. ¡Que Dios les bendiga!

Estimados exalumnos,
Saludos nuevamente desde su querida Academia. Espero que ustedes y sus familias continúen siendo bendecidos con felicidad y salud. Nuevamente, quiero agradecerles por el apoyo que me han brindado para construir la base de datos de exalumnos. Actualmente contamos con 815 alumnos contabilizados. Todavía tenemos muchos más para agregar, pero estamos llegando "lento pero seguro". Continúe comunicándose con sus amigos.
La razón principal de mi correo electrónico hoy es reflexionar con ustedes sobre esta semana en particular en Oaklawn. Esta es la semana de graduación de nuestra clase del 2023. Esta es la generación 37 que saldrá por las puertas de Oaklawn Academy en Edgerton, Wisconsin. Sé que esto hará que algunos de ustedes se sientan muy viejos… Imagínese cómo me siento jajaja.
Esta fue tu última semana también, te despertaste el lunes por la mañana y comenzaste a sentir muchas emociones... Se terminaron las clases, se terminaron los exámenes, se empezó a empacar, ensayos, etc... Estos, aunque presentes en tu mente, no eran tus principales sentimientos o pensamientos.
Empiezas a pensar en lo rápido que ha pasado el tiempo en Oaklawn, en comparación con lo que parecía ser cuando llegaste. Cómo tal vez lloraste por la noche el primer par de semanas o más y ahora, al final, nuevas lágrimas parecen brotar de tus ojos. Los nuevos “hermanos” que ganaron durante este año; “Hermanos de por vida” … Su corazón estaba dividido entre la felicidad de volver a ver a sus familias y hogares y la perspectiva de despedirse de sus amigos el último día de su graduación.
Esa charla de la última noche... Cuando te sentaste con tu dean, asistentes y especialmente tus amigos, escuchando a cada uno compartir una breve reflexión sobre lo que significó para ellos este tiempo en Oaklawn. Estas nuevas “lágrimas” de reconocimiento por la gran oportunidad que tuviste, las nuevas amistades que entablaste, tus logros y crecimiento personal, tu gratitud hacia tus padres y familiares por la oportunidad que te brindaron, los “verdaderos abrazos de amistad” que diste a estos amigos después de tu última “charla nocturna” … Luego, después del picnic de graduación, abrazando de nuevo a estos nuevos “hermanos” por última vez, tu corazón a punto de estallar con esta montaña rusa emocional de sentimientos…
Estos son los momentos “preciosos” de la vida, tus sentimientos y emociones reales. Luego, cuando salió por la entrada de Oaklawn Academy; agradecido por su tiempo aquí y preparado para las próximas etapas de su vida... Siempre es bueno ponerse en contacto con estos momentos que forman el carácter de nuestras vidas y usarlos como un termómetro para ver dónde estamos hoy día...
Este viernes honraremos a nuestra generación 37 en su ceremonia de graduación y el sábado tendrán su misa final y picnic familiar. Algunos de ustedes estarán presentes ya que su propio hijo se graduará. Ese es un gran testimonio de su amor por Oaklawn y apreciamos mucho su lealtad.
Únase a mí para dirigir nuestras oraciones y pensamientos por el éxito de estos jóvenes y ore para que la generación 2023 tenga tanto éxito como usted en sus vidas.
