Great Professional Day in Edgewater! Our teachers are learning from one another!!!
To celebrate Women's History Month, EVG held its 3rd Annual Phenomenal Women in the Workforce event. Community members presented to students about their professional journeys and career paths. Students enthusiastically engaged in the presentations and asked thoughtful questions.
Congratulations to fifth grader, Rachelle Shaughnessy, in Mr. Blaso's class, for being named a finalist in the Bergen County Women's History Month Sticker Contest. We are so proud of your hard work and achievement! A special thanks to all of the fifth graders who entered into the contest as part of their social studies lessons on Women's History Month. Great work!
GW author visit, Mr. Ian Webster of Big and Little Meet in the Middle!
Greetings GW School Community,
I wanted to share with you a new school initiative we have started, the Principal's Mobile Office. My mobile office is also a part of an incentive program for the students. Students in grades K-2 can earn, "Cunningham Notes," or "C-Notes," by exhibiting kindness, showing good behavior, making good choices, etc. The "C-Notes," are given directly to classroom teachers rather than individual students.
We started this initiative last Friday, and have already recognized several classes. At the end of each month, one classroom will receive a prize of their choice, for example, an ice cream party, a pizza party, an extra recess, etc. for earning the most "C-Notes."
We are so fortunate to have a positive and welcoming environment here at GW, it is a credit to our staff and supportive families. I look forward to sharing the winning classes with you each month, be on the lookout!
Regards,
Mr. Cunningham, Principal

EVG's Pegasus Update February 28, 2024
Thank you, Mrs. Phillippin and Ms. Clesmere, for our first annual Oratorical Festival!!!! Our students blew us away with their powerful performances, showcasing their talents through original pieces and poems close to their hearts. Each performance radiated with PEGASUS pride, encapsulating what it truly means to be part of our community.
From heartfelt narratives to passionate expressions, every moment on stage was a testament to the creativity and dedication of our students. We couldn't be prouder of their bravery and eloquence in sharing their voices.
