We have become aware of a new scam occurring in the Twin Cities area.
People are being contacted via written document or phone notifying them that they are being fined for failing to appear for jury duty. The caller may even be impersonating a law enforcement officer. Commonalities with this scam require the person to provide cash for their fine and to not end the phone call with the scammer until they have reached the specified meeting destination.
Be on the lookout for this scam, and especially watch out for your older family members and friends.
We don't know if anyone loves pens as much as lawyers do.
