Stay Safe South Texas
[9:45PM Weds, July 3] Hurricane Beryl continues to move WNW across the Caribbean with sustained winds of 130mph, still a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane. The storm should weaken a bit over the next couple of days as it moves across the western Caribbean toward the Yucatan Peninsula. The storm should reach the Gulf of Mexico by Friday evening. Long range forecasts continue to push Beryl toward the NE Mexico, South Texas coastline. The latest forecast is a little bit slower, with Beryl approaching the coast late Sunday night, early Monday morning as a Category 1 hurricane. For the RGV, conditions may start to deteriorate on Sunday with heavy rain possible into early next week. Specific impacts will be determined as the storm get closer. Stay weather aware this week.
