Winter project bags from Nona Pearl Creations are going fast! Be sure to shop soon if you want to get your hands on these adorable prints. Nona's bags are only available in-store, not on our website (they sell out too fast to keep them stocked online!).
However, you can shop from her website: nonapearlcreations.com and she offers free pick up from All Wound Up, or shipping within the US.
These will be the last batch of winter/holiday themed prints until next year.
More great new yarn has just arrived at All Wound Up!
Check out Universal Colorburst: these giant gradient balls (200 grams/660 yards) are so soft and perfect for baby blankets, garments, shawls, and accessories. The colors gradually shift from one color to the next.
If you look at Ravelry Projects for ideas with this yarn, you'll be amazed at over 500 suggestions. Similar to Noro, these yarns will work well with their patterns too. Need to pair Colorburst up with a solid for contrast? We recommend Berroco Vintage DK - they are both superwash yarns and a wool/acrylic blend.
Come squish this yarn in person and see all of the beautiful color options. Or view them in our online shop: shop.allwoundupyarnshop.com in the DK weight section.
We are extremely pleased to bring you a new yarn!
Lascaux DK is milled and dyed by Ancient Arts, an Independent Yarn Dyer in Canada. This non-superwash, heritage breed yarn is perfect for sweaters! It knits like a dream and feels wonderful against the skin. We have 20 amazing colors in warm jewel tones. You're sure to find the perfect skeins for your next project.
"Lascaux is a delightful blend of Old World and New World sheep fibre. Manx Loaghtan is a heritage breed sheep found only on the Isle of Mann, and the modern breed is the Punta Arenas from South America. The natural colour of this yarn is a light brown, so it has a heathered undertone when it is dyed, and although it looks rustic, it actually knits up exceptionally soft! Note: Lascaux has it's own unique colour palette due to the natural colour of the yarn." - Ancient Arts
Come see them all in person, or shop the DK weight section of our website: shop.allwoundupyarnshop.com
It’s Thursday and at All Wound Up, that means it’s our Knit the National Parks Hat Kit release day! This is our LAST new release day! We now have all 63 hats and kits in our shop. Come see our amazing display of hats in person - they are gorgeous! Find the kits on our shopping website: shop.allwoundupyarnshop.com in the kits section.
When you purchase a kit, you receive the yarn needed for one hat, and the faux leather tag with the name of the national park!
The pattern is not included in the kit, but can be purchased individually on Ravelry or at nancybatesdesigns.com. Planning to knit more than 5 or 6 of her hat patterns? Grab a copy of Nancy's amazing book in store or online.
This week we restocked the following kits: Arches, Mesa Verde, Theodore Roosevelt, Everglades and Mount Rainier.
Looking for the perfect quick knit for a Home Alone fan? We’ve got just the projects! These super squishy and slouchy beanies are warm and cozy, and sized for a teen or adult.
We used for the Moose hat, and for the Lost in NY hat, but any DK or light worsted will work. Come see our samples in our shop!
Find the patterns free on Ravelry:
“Kevin McCallister’s Moose Hat“ by Vrock Knits
and “Lost in New York” by Knits N Knacks/Althea Forbes
Today (Saturday) is your last chance to sign up for the exciting and inspiring Fiberside Chat with Nancy Bates.
As you know, we have LOVED making all of the beanies from Nancy's Book "Knitting the National Parks". She has a new book out now, "Knitting California" that she will be talking about. She will also speak with us about the inspiration for her designs, and how to incorporate your surroundings to inspire your own fiber art work.
When you register for the chat, you'll be sent a link to join the zoom call from Longmont Yarn. Simply join the call tomorrow at 11 am (Pacific time) by clicking the link. Or if you can't make it live, watch the recording that is sent out later in the day. You have a full week to watch it.
We hope you can attend. Use the QR code featured, or visit longmontyarn.com to register. When you sign up, please scroll down to the ticket labeled "All Wound Up".
We did it!
This week, Nona finished knitting the 63rd National Park Beanie. Our lovely display includes every single hat from Nancy Bates' amazing book "Knitting the National Parks". She knit the Olympic beanie first, back in February of 2023, and finished the last hat (Lake Clark) Tuesday evening!
The hats are displayed in the shop in order, just as they are featured in the book (the three Washington hats can be found up by our register). As of next week, we will also have produced kits for all 63 hats. This week we have kits for Wrangell-St.Elias and Kenai Fjords.
Kits include the yarn for one hat, and the faux-leather tag. The pattern is not included, but can be found in Nancy's book, or individually sold on her website: nancybatesdesigns.com
We also restocked kits for Olympic, North Cascades, Saguaro, Redwood, and Carlsbad Caverns this week.

Ready for another round of Sunday Sweater Spotlight? We have a new display of beautiful sweaters knit by Jen and Kathy up in our shop, now through December 10th.
The Deb Pullover by Amanda Kafta is delightfully sparkly, perfect for the holidays. This is a fast, bulky knit that flies off the needles. You can use a bulky weight (like Berroco Wizard) or hold fi*****ng weight yarn along with mohair or lace. For our samples, we also held a strand of Brillino with the other yarn(s) which sparkles beautifully! The two on the left are a size 3 with extended length. The shorter one is a size 2, knit to the pattern.
We encourage you to come see these beautiful sweaters in person, and feel how soft and lovely the yarn works up. Ask a staff member to help you pick out the right number of skeins for your size!
Our Half Yearly Sale extends through the end of the day today, but we don't want to forget to mention our National Park Hat releases this week!

We've also uploaded a new tutorial video to our National Park Playlist on YouTube - how to place beads in your knitting, as the Great Basin hat has optional beads (and we include them in our kits). We already have a tutorial on making french knots in that same playlist, as you'll need to do that in the American Samoa hat.
When you purchase a kit, you receive the yarn needed for one hat, and the faux leather tag with the name of the national park!
The pattern is not included in the kit, but can be purchased individually on Nancy Bates’ website. Planning to knit more than 5 or 6 of her hat patterns? Grab a copy of her amazing book in store or online, and check out over 55 of our kits while you're there: shop.allwoundupyarnshop.com/kits

It's your last chance to sign up for this Sunday's Fiberside Chat: Shetland Adventuring with Gudrun and Mary Jane and you won't want to miss it!
Shetland is known worldwide for its exquisite lace knitting and distinctive Fair Isle colorwork knitting. Lesser known is how these arts are born out of a culture of thrift and economy, both in materials and time. In this lecture, Mary Jane and Gudrun take you for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their new book and share some commonalities between these two knitting disciplines and enthuse on the subject of Shetland in general.
For 10 years, the duo led groups of avid knitters to the islands on Grand Shetland Adventures, their signature, once-in-a-lifetime trips, and now, you're invited too! They'll introduce you to their favorite places in the isles, highlighting yarn producers, textile makers, crofters, and favorite walks in the wild outdoors. Come along for the journey!

1. Use the QR code or visit longmontyarn.com to go to the Fiberside Chats registration page.
2. Select "All Wound Up" from the drop down list, and add your ticket to the cart.

5. A summary email will be sent by the following Monday with a link to watch the recording. You'll have one week to watch before the video is taken down.
We hope to see you there!

Feeling the need for a little extra sparkle in your life?
We've restocked our Polka Dot Sheep Rime and it is perfect for holiday projects. The stellina (the fiber that sparkles in the yarn) subtlety catches the light so it's just sparkly enough without making you a disco ball. It's also much softer than other sparkle yarns we've felt. This blend won't irritate your skin! And of course, because it's Polka Dot Sheep - we can order it in any of their amazing colors!
Find this yarn in the fi*****ng weight section of our shop or online store: www.shop.allwoundupyarnshop.com
