"Lou has wrestled with a big ball of tangled Christmas lights for the last time! He is grabbing the sunblock, his Elvis in Paradise album, and his wife Carol, and he is hopping on the Pineapple Express! He plans to escape the freezing cold of New Jersey, his nutty family, and most of all… the holidays. However, a freak snow storm leaves the couple stranded at the airport and their dream of sipping Pina Coladas on the beach is in peril. Will a couple of unexpected characters help restore Lou’s Christmas Spirit in the… St. Nick… of time!?”

Today is the closing matinee of Tartuffe: Born Again and it's extremely full today so please consider arriving closer to door opening time at 1:15pm for the 2pm show.
The final cast member hardly needs introduction at this point but BJ Smyth plays our Louisiana grifter turned Televangelist Tartuffe.
"BJ is just about perfect as the schlocky Tartuffe. His drawl, big smile, and polite manner are so over the top, but every once in awhile his true personality comes through, especially when he sees Orgon’s wife, Elmire (Laura McFarlane). BJ delivers on all counts here, he’s just so funny in this role, and he’s a master at the smarmy, while Jag is very good at the servant who is willing to put Tartuffe above even his own family. The highlight of BJ’s performance for me is the opening to Act 2, as his Tartuffe prepares for his next sermon. It’s a look inside the mind of this complicated character, and the way BJ flits in and out of thought and into speech is quite extraordinary. It’s funny, but it’s also the point of the show. And when Cleante and Elmire hatch a plan to shine a light on the true nature of Tartuffe, the result is a scene from Laura and BJ that steals the show."- Greg Heilman The Sound On Stage
"BJ Smyth is happy to be back on stage at The Phoenix Theatre. He has recently appeared in Move Over Mrs. Markham (TPT), Ada and the Engine (Driftwood), and Wonka (Driftwood). Love to J&J. And PTL."

Returning patrons will hardly recognize Phoenix fan-favorite James Lynch with this hair! James plays protective brother Damis, who doesn't trust Tartuffe as far as he can throw him! Will he be forced to watch his family fall under the preacher's spell?
"James is beyond thrilled to be back at the Phoenix! He has been in several shows on this stage in the past several years, most recently in “Move Over Mrs. Markham” and “Death By Design”. He is especially excited to be returning to the show that made him fall in love with Farce back in high school. Special thanks to Meghan, Chelsea, and Juliette for giving me a lifetime of experience as a brother. James is so excited to be back on the Phoenix stage."
Doors open tonight at 6:45pm for a 7:30pm showtime. As a reminder there is no late seating.

Help us welcome back to our stage the incomparable Susan Connors who plays the pious Mrs. Parnell in Tartuffe: Born Again by Moliere and Freyda Thomas. Mrs. Parnell wants to believe in the goodness of televangelist Tartuffe but will he swindle her and her family for all their worth?
"A regular here, Phoenix audiences may remember her most recently listing poisons alphabetically in Death by Design, and posing behind the iced buns in Calendar Girls, as well as numerous others over the past 15 seasons.. She has also appeared locally with Woodinville Rep, Ballyhoo, Red Curtain, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Bathhouse Theatre, Tacoma Actors Guild among others. Although her TV credits age her, she confesses to appearances in Archie Bunker’s Place, Mrs. Columbo and Northern Exposure. She is a regular performer with the nationally syndicated radio drama series Imagination Theatre."

The lovely and talented Ines Kreitlein joins the Phoenix Theatre for the first time in the role of Tammy Faye De Salle, a real estate appraiser without whom the show might end a lot differently!
"Ines Kreitlein (De Salle) is excited to be joining this fun and talented cast and crew on the Phoenix Theatre stage for the first time. She was most recently seen as Lord Byron in the Driftwood Players’ Ada and the Engine, and is hoping to invest her big commission off of Tartuffe’s estate sale into her upcoming short film projects."

Audiences and critics have been delighted and impressed with the ultra talented ensemble of Tartuffe: Born Again! Ashlie Blaske plays Dorine, who drives our comedy with sarcastic wit. Will she be able to thwart Tartuffe before he has his way with Orgon's family and fortune?
"Ashlie Blaske has recently been seen as: Carol in Festival of Shorts-The Bench (EDP), June in Into the Breeches (Red Curtain Foundation), Mock Turtle/Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland (Variety Plus), and Marthann in Southern Fried Funeral (Lynden Performing Arts Guild). When not on stage, Ashlie can be found solving IT problems, teaching choreography for Lynden High Schools theatre program or toting her baby nephew around in the front of her overalls. This performance is dedicated to my dad, whose laugh I can always hear from backstage."
Great seats remain for Fri and Sat, Sunday matinee is going quickly.
