This past year Dr. Martinez was selected to be a River Scholar in the River Field Studies Network that gathers river scientists from all over the US to learn field teaching methods. The River Rendezvous began with a five day raft trip down the San Juan River in Utah. River Scholars learned to organize river trips for 20+ students, about swift water safety, and about the southern Colorado plateau while admiring the river scenery.

The SIUE storm chasers had an epic day yesterday outside of Lubbock. We experienced a few dust storms the area is famous for and a super cell with spectacular lightning. 📸: see photos
Getting ready for another day of storm chasing! The hotel facilities in Lubbock were amazing! We were able to pull up all the data and models to plan out our day.
Dr. Black’s Storm Chasing course is on the road! First a storm in Oklahoma and on to Texas for some BBQ and more storms!
