Liz and Thunder won their first check together!!! Their 3rd race, and money is in her hands. Her goal for each race is to have fun with her horse partner!!!🐴💵
Be patient with your kids. Let them learn at their own pace. Let them get yelled at and grow a little tough skin. Let them learn hard work and responsibility. Let them know that just because they love something doesn’t mean it’ll come easy.
Liz has made leaps and bounds riding wise since starting with me at the beginning of 2022. She is a fearless rider and is always ready to try something new, but she had to get rid of some bad habits she developed. She went from crying when tacking up because she wanted someone to do it for her to now helping any other kid that’s around get everything they’re supposed to done. She used to get so upset when I’d yell at her during lessons to realizing that’s just how it goes and I only yell when necessary (some days is more than others😅). Her and Thunder did so amazing on Liz’s first weekend of ever competing. She competed when I felt she was ready and most importantly when she felt she was ready.
They ran a 28 together. Not bad for a newbie racer and old man horse. 🐴

The heat can’t stop us from enjoying the horses. All the kiddos in the program have definitely earned their cowgirl/cowboy stamp of approval after this summers boiling temperatures. ☀️🐴
So proud of this little blondie. Sutton’s progress is amazing to watch and she really shows those horses whose boss. She might be little, but she makes them listen to her. I foresee some rodeos in her future 🐴

You’ve become such an amazing rider in this past year. You’ve excelled leaps and bounds, and you finally have a horse to help you strive in all aspects of riding. I love watching you and Joe improve together as a team. I know the future is super bright in whatever path you choose to do, but take a few years off and don’t leave too soon so I don’t have to find someone to replace you 😜🐴

It’s that time of the year.
Goodbyes are never easy. Especially to kiddos that I’ve watched grow up they’ve been with me so long. I hate seeing them go, but love hearing about all their new experiences wherever they end up.
This group of kids was hard to watch drive away one final time. Grace, Ella, Freya, and Mia have all been such a core group of the program. Their riding abilities have exceeded all limits I had set for them. Their care and patience for the animals have warmed my heart. Their growth and maturing has awed me. How’d I get so lucky to be apart of these kids lives for so long?
Juliet and Jocelyn were only with me for a few short months and their move came very unexpected. They weren’t ready to go, and I wasn’t ready for them to go. They loved the sport and they were such quick learners. I was so excited to be able to teach them more, but hopefully they will continue this extra curricular at their next station.
I know I’ll keep in touch with all these kiddos, but still not the same as seeing them every week. Thank all of you kids and the parents for leaving such big imprints on my heart and life.🤍🐴🦄

Sunday mornings are Borrega’s favorite. That’s my 2-5 year old group lesson day. All the kids “share” their breakfasts with her. I use share lightly because sometimes Borrega takes it upon herself to make them share. They all love her and give her hugs and treats constantly. Little Liz even curled up with her in her bed, and Borrega was all about it! What a perfect ranch dog.💜

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Maddy and Prince for winning their first buckle together!!! I couldn’t have been more excited for them. They put in so much hard work while also having fun and it shows out there during their runs. Now to add to the collection!🍀🐴
Hey I teach her!
Maddy and Prince were ON IT!!! This duo gets quicker and quicker every race. Maddy works really hard during her lessons to fix what she needs to to keep progresssing with her horse. We have a lot of laughs too when we practice, but this is one determined girl. Next race, I’m predicting she’ll beat me!🐴
1st time on Tahoe and only about the 4th time trotting. This girl is getting good and she absolutely loves it! Still so much to work on, but so much progress has been made in a short time. Can’t wait to see the leaps and bounds Julia will make in the future!🦄

I’m a little behind on here, but I couldn’t go without giving an appreciation post to a very special horse.
She wasn’t mine, but she was part of our lesson family, and I know she held a special spot in a lot of kids hearts. We sadly lost Tonka on Tuesday after a long, tough battle with cushings. This horse went through so much, finally ended up in the right family, and then got to be loved on by not only her own kids, but also all the lesson kids. Tonka was an awesome and easy little horse who gave so much confidence to all my little riders. She was truly the perfect kids horse. It’s never easy losing one, but she made so many kids dreams come true. Go run around with your bestie Blue and be sure to look over your families new horse. Love ya Tonk💖

I’m always posting about the kids, but wanted to show what I get to do…because of the families and the kids that choose to have me as their instructor.
I’m lucky enough to be able to go out and barrel race when I want and where I want. I do put in a lot of work to be able to do that, and I’m blessed with horses that make it fun and competitive for me. Without everyone involved in my program this wouldn’t be possible. Not only is it because they provide me with work, but I get motivation from them. I have kids that google my name, dress up as me on career day at school, name their horse related toys after me and my horses, and tell me that when they grow up they want to be me. How can I not give my all for them and be completely transparent on the good and bad of it all. They ask for pictures and videos and I get ”good luck” texts when I’m out of town. They all know that I make mistakes too, and that I am not a perfect rider. I share those mistakes with them, but to them I’m still someone they look up to and want to become. I hope to be a person in their lives that have helped them grow in one way or another because everyone in my program has helped me grow more than I could have ever imagined. I am forever grateful for everyone who I get to cross paths with in this very crazy and fun sport that we call horseback riding.🐴🦄
Cold weather is quickly approaching, so dress warm. No need for little hands or ears to freeze off. Gloves, hats, and lots of jackets are a must for this winter weather.
Horses get much fresher in the winter which means they are more likely to “act up”. Round penning lessons and on ground learning lessons are a must throughout the cold days. No one knows my horses as much as I do, and I will not put any students or any horses at risk if I feel like it might be one of those extra spunky days. Even the best of horse can and will have a burst of energy in cool temps, and that burst of energy can be extreme. I also won’t make any kids hands freeze off by riding if it happens to be extra cold, we will do some other type of lesson whether it’s games, learning, or ground work with horses. I want this winter season to be enjoyable and safe for everyone!
