We’ve announced all the recipients of our Community Partner Awards, and we want to give special recognition to the $15,000 Creating Possibility Award winner: Upward Bound of Barton County in Great Bend, KS! Serving low-income students and those whose parents do not hold a bachelor's degree, Upward Bound of Barton County provides support that helps students succeed before college, be prepared for college entrance, and excel in their higher education pursuits. Their services include tutoring, mentoring, financial literacy education, assistance with accessing Federal Student Financial Aid, as well as support for unique challenges such as homelessness or foster care. We are thankful to have great organizations like this serving our bank communities and are proud to call Upward Bound of Barton County our top Community Partner Award recipient for 2024! September is ! Led by Feeding America, Hunger Action Month is a national effort to bring awareness to hunger across America and inspire people to take action to prevent it. We'd like to highlight one of our community partners, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger (EPFH), for their efforts. As the only food bank serving a three county area in Texas, EPFH is dedicated to nourishing individuals in need while empowering them through nutrition education, job training programs, and assistance.
